Guest guest
Decluttering can be a mental challenge. I hope that you will evolve from this wiser and happier. Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® Recovering from Epic Backslide ....and I want to thank the lovely people on this list who responded without judgement, with pure support. I really needed it. Thank you. I haven't overeaten in 2 days. My back-slide just kind of ran its course. Maybe giving myself 2 hours of agony with an IBS attack from eating an entire box of cereal helped. But I did something else, too. I started de-cluttering. Big time. I basically am throwing out my old life, about 70% of it. And it's really taking some strains off me that I didn't even know were there. It's kind of amazing. I'd love it if I never had another back-slide into binging every day. I have no idea what the future holds. But I realized something else. When I overeat, it has nothing to do with food. I'll give 2 examples of what I mean. One is pretty intense, here. Example 1: Rape is not about sex. Rape is violence with sex used as a medium. Example 2: (much milder) Have you ever owned a cat who sucks buttons? That cat isn't really hoping for milk. It's not about the milk. It's a reflex that makes the cat feel relaxed and safe. That's what overeating is for me. It's not about food at all. It's a desperatem attempt to excape stress, to find calm and peace and calm, with food as a medium. Thanks again for reading.
