Hello,

My name is . I just discovered the IOWL podcasts and started listening

this week.

I have started what seems like my 10,000th regime, lifestyle change...diet.

Whatever you want to call it and when i get the weight off (again) - I want to

maintain it, permanently.

Last significant weight loss was yrs ago - i lost 40lbs on LA weight loss.

Sadly, it has been creeping back on, and I have regained just over 1/2 of it.

So i would love to join your group as I go through this journey again.

Hello , welcome !

I suggest you listen to all the podcasts a first time around, just to get the

general idea, which you can begin to apply immediately, and then go back to zero

giving your full attention to every podcast and taking the time to assimilate it

completely before you get to the next. It's what i'm doing right now. Have a

good journey !

Hello everyone!

I am new to this yahoo group and just wanted to say hello and give a brief

synopsis of my story. I began this weight loss journey the end of May, 2011

after an appointment with a weight loss doctor. I need to lose over 100 pounds

to be at a healthy weight. For the month of June, it was the hardest thing I've

ever had to do (losing weight). It seemed like a constant struggle/constant

battle with myself. I was losing weight just fine but was exhausted with the

entire process.

I'm a school psychologist and I remember learning in one of my health psychology

courses in graduate school, the benefits of guided imagery. I randomly searched

for podcasts for weight loss and guided imagery and came across the IOWL

podcast. I started listening to it nightly about a month ago, and immediately

was hooked! I truly believe this podcast has been instrumental in helping me

with the weight loss process. It's a layer of support that I have discovered is

so important! I have the weight loss doctor for support medically, great family

and friends for support socially, the gym/working out for support physically,

but I was missing the emotional/mental health support that the IOWL podcast

provides!

After listening to the podcast daily, I've noticed that there isn't a constant

struggle/battle with myself anymore! I've let that that go completely! I'm not

exhausted anymore, and am really enjoying going to the gym and working out. I've

made a decision only to be weighed every 2 weeks when I go to the weight loss

doctor. (I find that I start obsessing with the scale multiple times a day if I

don't and it gets very discouraging). So far I've lost 15 pounds, but more

importantly, I feel better than I've felt in my entire life (I'm 30).

I'm hoping that by joining this yahoo group it will be yet another layer of

support. Thanks for reading my story everyone! I'm excited to now be part of

this yahoo group

Welcome Therese! I too am in the same boat for losing 100lbs+. I started my

journey in January 2010. I did not find IOWL until sometime in June 2010. It's

exactly what I need to fill that mental/ psychological piece I am missing. I

have been able to really self reflect alot about why I overeat. I also made

peace with the fact that I will physically have a slower weight loss rate: I

have hypothyroidism and physically my metabolism is slow! It will not stop me

though! Currently I have lost close to 50lbs and have kept all of the weight off

since I started over a year ago! Yeah for maintaining!

I also am in my 30's- 32 to be exact and really wanted to let you know- I

understand the struggle and frustration with having to lose so much weight. I

would love to help each other along the way. I am also a professional-

Registered Nurse and know that stress plays a huge part in weight loss.

Welcome again- know that you are supported!

Hi Theresa,

Hi! Welcome to the group. Sounds like you are doing a fantastic job!

Thank you for being there for people's kids. If I did your job, I'd have

WAY more than 100 lbs to lose (seriously.. my heart breaking over things

I can't control isn't an easy thing to settle.. food would help!).. I

look forward to sharing your journey.

Therese,

Welcome. I have been on vacation for the past few weeks and I am still playing

away from home until mid August...Until then I will be relatively quiet. (Very

limited email chances) I look forward to hearing about your journey.

Hiya!

I am new to the group. I happend to come across one of 's pod

casts when searching on loa and weight loss. I loved her message and the idea

of inside out changes. I haven't had a chance yet to sign up for any the pod

casts but plan to. Haven't done much reading about this either, other than

hearing the one pod cast. But again, I like the concept!

So just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am someone who has been weight

and food challenged all of my life and am working on turing it around and

thinking of it as a blessing and a teacher. Some days I succeed, some days not

lol.

Anyroo, any suggestions for someone new to 's teachings?

Thanks!

Peace--Jenna

Hi Jenna and welcome! I would recommend going to www.personallifemedia.com and

start at the beginning. You can right click over the links there and save them

to your computer if you like. I would them recommend you take down notes of the

important points you want to implement or remember. I'd also suggest that you

give your time to digest each episode. I was so inspired by them that i raced

through a whole lot. Now I'm at 50 or something and I'm going back to revise the

beginning ones. If you or anyone else is interested, I'd love to have a

little discussion about each one as we go through them and discuss what we got

out of it. Jeanette

Thank you for all of your comments. It is hard for me to reach out and discuss

my flaws, but I am glad that I have. I think that it will help me finally end

my constant battle with food. I am on to week 2 and I really liked this

chapter. I found out that I am a giver, a perfectionist, and a fraud. I like

the insight for sure, but I am also ready to heard about ways to fix the

problems.
