You can change your settings to receive a weekly digest or just check in at the

group when it suits you, as I probably will given the volume. I think the

quantity of new people and messages are great whether you're reading the book,

have done the podcasts already or are just jumping in. It's the support that

counts, from people with similar struggles, mot where you are on the road, that

matters.

I intend to be herewith you. By the way on kindle i've already set my intention

right in the book itself as a note. The book is serving as both book and

journal. It's pretty cool, and all on my phone-with me all the time.

Great tip on doing notes right in the Kindle! I'll have to take advantage

of the notes feature too. Thanks for sharing.

If I were new, I'd be thrilled with tons of messages. As says, it's easy

to check messages on the web or subscribe to digest format if the volume becomes

overwhelming.

Signing up and seeing no activity would make me think no one was working the

program or members were all isolating.

So, here I am, wanting to send all of you support and compassion as we journey

through this book and our struggles. I guess we should begin with our

intentions.

My intention: to become a person of intent;a person who knows what drives ME,

what keeps me inspired to jump out of bed knowing that my efforts of the day

will bring me the life that helps me to be joyful.

Hi all.

Intention setting sounds cool. Here is mine for this year:

To increase my appreciation for the person I am, compassion understanding and

appreciation for the person I was, and excitement about the person I see myself

becoming. In other words, to keep learning to like myself. In the past I had

little or no appreciation for Carlton, such that I am still uncomfortable with

hearing my own name. In fact for most of my life I really hated and despised

myself. This came out in addictive behaviours. Food is one of the last hold-outs

in self abuse.

I am slowly learning to nurture and care for myself as I come slowly to believe

that I am worth caring about and worthy of my own love. This is not an easy

process, but thanks for making a big difference for me over this last year

as I have listened to all the podcasts, and re-listened to quite a few.

Love this Carlton and it falls in line with both my forward motivation and

intentions.  Will post later about this but wanted to tell you that I loved

your thoughts here!

Thanks.

I find that at my current stage, I NEED to concentrate on towards motivations

and try to not get caught up in the negatives. I latch onto the negative by

nature, being a melancholy creative type. When I put my attention on the

positive, on the " towards, " I actually start to make some progress. Negatives

are a trap for me and I start to spiral into despair and I tend to give up and

pig out to soothe the discomfort. I am trying to build more comfort with being

in my skin.

I am sure I gained a pound or two over the season but that is Ok. It was

important to be present for family meals and to celebrate. I did not take big

second portions. I had moderate desserts, and no seconds on those. I have done

well and am keeping present with things.

I'm in a similar space. I put on a pound or two beats the 30 pounds I put on

christmas of 2002. I've learned a lot over the years and even though I could

have controlled my intake better,i need to celebrate the improvements that I

have made.

Forward motivation is to have my blood work to come out healthy this year, to

find a way to easily manage my food intolerances, to fit into and look good in

shorts.

You gave me a chuckle. I bet you are not the only melancholy, artistic type in

this group! keep it positive, make short term goal that you can conquer to

inspire yourself always forward.

and try to not get caught up in the negatives. I latch onto the negative by

nature, being a melancholy creative type. When I put my attention on the

positive, on the " towards, " I actually start to make some progress. Negatives

are a trap for me and I start to spiral into despair and I tend to give up and

pig out to soothe the discomfort. I am trying to build more comfort with being

in my skin.

important to be present for family meals and to celebrate. I did not take big

second portions. I had moderate desserts, and no seconds on those. I have done

well and am keeping present with things.

little or no appreciation for Carlton, such that I am still uncomfortable with

hearing my own name. In fact for most of my life I really hated and despised

myself. This came out in addictive behaviours. Food is one of the last hold-outs

in self abuse.

as I have listened to all the podcasts, and re-listened to quite a few.
