Hello Eldred & All,

I am in the same boat as you - still tying to figure the gift(s) along with the

two motivator. Unfortunately, I have no answers at this time - but not giving

up.

Best wishes to you,

> How do you find better ways for it to give you a gift when you don't know what

the gift IS? I still haven't figured out what I'm getting out of overeating or

being overweight. Not sure if the overeating is the key and being overweight is

just the result, or if being overweight is the gift...

Hello everyone..

I know that whenever I need comfort I tend to overeat or whenever I'm having a

day when I'm doing things I don't want to do and just feeling miserable I

" crave " chocolates or anything sugary to comfort me.

I think that being overweight is a result of eating the sugary foods but I also

think that if I am in the end able to reach my goal that I might be extremely

disappointed. All my life I've been thinking.. " When I get to my ideal weight,

I'll do..... " (fill in the blank)

Since I've started listening to , the need to stuff myself with sweets and

ice cream has slowly decreased. Also, I have found that the more I learn to love

myself and show up as myself, the more I'm enjoying life at the weight I am now.

Consequently, even though my weight is about the same as when I started

IOWL...my body seems to have changed for the better... Is it the working out? Or

the fact that I'm eating mostly healthy foods? Or the fact that I am now

appreciative of my body and loving it more and more as it is?

  • 4 weeks later...

I just did lesson 4 Eldred, and talks about objections to discovering the

gift/ fulfilling our dream. I found that for me being overweight is safer, and

in my little girl's mind (who/what I found within and took out and held), she

thinks she feels safer from abuse when she is overweight... SO, for me, the gift

she wants to give me is the inner freedom of a mature woman, inner peace,

release from that fear and feelings of worthiness and deep self-love. In some

ways the gift is the other side of the objection/objections I have to being my

healthy weight, slim and attractive to myself and others. I hope I have heard

you correctly and that what I have said is something you can relate to. This is

my first post!

Congrats for your first post! :-)

I don't think that it's safety or comfort in my case. I don't have any fear of

being slim and attractive. I've never been starved for food, so it isn't fear

of not having enough. So I'm still at a loss to figure out what benefit

overeating or being overweight is....

What's the positive intent?

Eldred
