Guest guest
It's time to get serious. I am writing with the hope that in putting something on paper I will start being more honest and kind toward myself. I have been listening to your podcasts for two years, and yet I am still in denial that I have a problem. I'm at a healthy weight and stay there consistantly. I have been listening with reason of maintaining weight and learning to be positive about my body and my abilities. What I have been in denial of, is that I still have a problem with food. About 4 years ago I started having regular intestinal problems. When I finally went to the doctor after months of denial, I was diagnosed with anemia. after more tests my doctor suggested that this was possibly caused by a food intolerance such a gluten or lactose intolerance. So, I cut the gluten out and that helped for a while. I was diagnosed with cancer shortly after finding out about the anemia. It is my strong belief that the food intolerance, which caused my body to lose iron, B-12 and vitamin D, opened the door to the cancer. It's been apparent for at least a year now, that gluten intolerance isn't the full answer, my intestinal problems are back in full swing. I feel strongly that this is even a life threatening condition to continue allowing this to linger. I don't want to end up with cancer again, yet I continue to eat the foods that I (when I'm being honest with myself) know are making me sick. I just want to eat " normally. " I'm tired of cutting out foods and cutting out more foods. I want to focus on something else and not have to constantly pay attention to keeping certain foods available so that I stop cheating. This past summer,I went on a raw food diet. I juiced,I ate salads for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was healthier than I had been in at least fifteen years. I teach, and when school went back into session, I swore that I would continue. I keep trying to get back to that place where I always had a salad made, and the ingredients available to juice.the problem is that, the wanting is not the problem. The juicing was intensely time consuming, and at the end of the school day, when it's cold outside,a salad just isn't what I want. How do you create a desire for that which is good for you, when all you seem want is poison for your body? Thank you for your podcasts, they serve as moment s of kindness and awareness as I go through my week. a Sawyer s wrote: >I wanted to thank all of you who helped me come up with topics to cover in >future podcasts. Guest guest
Wow, a, that sounds like a lot to go through.... Do you think you felt better because you were eating and drinking raw? Or was it the fact that you were getting so many veggies? One of my favorite foods this time of year is vegetable soup. It might be worth trying, to see if you get the same benefits from the same ingredients even if they're cooked... (Soup has the added advantage that you can cook up a huge pot and freeze some, so you have something on hand when you get home, and don't have to start chopping...) I also highly recommend the conflict resolution transformative download for isolating the positive intent behind the desire to poison your body.... If you're not up for buying the download, Podcast 4 has a similar journey. >________________________________ > >To: insideoutweightloss >Sent: Wednesday, December 7, 2011 1:04 PM >Subject: Re: Thank you! > > >This past summer,I went on a raw food diet. Guest guest
a,  I wonder too if you might have a limiting belief about food. What do you consider " poison " for your body? Vegetables and salads are great but maybe with winter here your body needs a few more carbs, protein and fat. I wonder if you would find it easier to eat healthy if you looked at your limiting beliefs about what food is truly is healthy.  Just a thought. Though, I love 's suggestion for Vegetable soup. I also love minestrone this time of year as well as French Onion Soup. Sometimes if I have what is healthy first it makes some of my cravings for to do things unhealthy or eating in a way thtat does not serve my body quiet a bit.  Good luck.  Livingston ________________________________ To: " insideoutweightloss " <insideoutweightloss > Sent: Wednesday, December 7, 2011 7:52 AM Subject: Re: Thank you!  Wow, a, that sounds like a lot to go through.... Guest guest
a, You have been through a lot and I can totally understand your frustration. I have tried an all raw diet and I felt radiant but as you said, life gets in the way and in winter you do need warm food after a long day. It does seem like eating raw worked for you so maybe instead of an all or nothing mentality (black or white as says) you can have a grey mentality. What I do is try to include as much raw as I can. Maybe one day I've just squeezed some juice but another day I might manage a big green salad and a smoothie and an apple. I like also make very big pots of veggie soup. I put all sorts of veggies in.... Red and yellow peppers, squash, tomatoes, carrots, cauliflower, spinach, parsley etc and add a 1/2 cup of barley. When the whole thing is done I run it through the blender ( in batches) and put in containers for the freezer. I also love baked apples with a bit of yogurt and green smoothies. Another thing I have learned with is to think of foods I want to include (positive thinking) as opposed to what I 'can't' eat (negative). Let us know about your progress. Guest guest
Hi a, What wonderful support many in the group have already offered. I'll keep this in mind for a future podcast. But a few comments for now. If the cancer was caused by the food intolerances, what were they caused by? In my experience, everything is connected, and these two may both be symptoms of the same underlying issues - probably some conflicting limiting beliefs. The body communicates to us through symptoms and if we don't get the message, it gets louder. What could your body be wanting to tell you? what is it asking you to do or change? I would start by asking what you were getting from the denial, what are you biggest fears of finding something? Fears are amazingly powerful manifestors because they are so emotionally charged (even those we deny...). I'd also look at the positive intent of eating the " bad " foods, and the feeling you have right before the craving. That's where the big pointer usually hangs out. Finally, cancer is a disease of an overgrowth of cells. trying to do too much, too fast. do you find that to be true in your life? Something to look at. Love, > > >I wanted to thank all of you who helped me come up with topics to cover in > >future podcasts. I love hearing your stories and how I might be able to > >help.
