Guest guest
I've been working through week 2 of the book (since I preordered it, I had it the night of the 26th on kindle). I'm to the part about overeater personalities, and it really ties in with this -- I am absolutely the Giver, and the Fraud, with, I think, a touch of the Abused. I'm looking forward to learning to deal with that in better ways. > ** > > > Hi Amelia, and others! I am sorry to hear about your son Amelia.. Guest guest
You are ahead of me. I'm taking in the week one ideas very carefully and writing a lot in the process. Givers have to be very careful around asperger children, the children can be very manipulative of those who are willing. Search for ways to put more responsibility in his hands. Guest guest
Well I did get the book 10 days ago I've done a lot of writing as well. I'm taking advantage and claiming " me time " to go lay across the bed with my kindle and my notebook and just read and write. About 30 mins to an hour each time. I have a friend I'm working with and I had a long conversation with my sister today about it. She's planning to buy the book, so maybe we'll see her here soon. And that's very true. He is manipulative. At the same time, in many ways he is always stumbling around in the dark. It's frustrating to see it from my end, but I can't even imagine what it would be like to be living in his. I do try to place more responsibility with him, for example, he has a fish and it's his responsibility to take care of it, and he also goes to Scouts and that's been a big deal. It's actually remarkable how different he is at Scouts. I want to find a way to capture that and bring it home. We have charts and lists and stuff he is supposed to take care of. Sometimes he can and other days he needs reminding of even the simplest thing. It's complicated and no day is ever the same. But we are weaning him off me operating as his frontal lobes (as his therapist has put it before). > ** > > > You are ahead of me. Guest guest
, is recording the calls, which you can listen to later. I know it would be more useful to participate real-time, but if that's your only reason ... it might be worth reconsidering. ________________________________ I wish I could too but the class actually does a phone conference during my work hours...bummer, because i would have like to have done it as well. Guest guest
Ill be hanging out right here. I don't really think we need to change a thing. What we all need is support as we go through our struggles. It doesn't matter whether a person is on chapter 3 or 5 or just listening to the podcasts. Guest guest
I hope I am posting in the right place ... My name is h and I am 21 and have been listening to 's podcasts for a while but never put in the full amount including the support groups. I have a family that is completely uninterested in this kind of stuff and it is what I love, so I have had a hard time finding a support group of passionate people looking to change their lives and fully enjoy it. I did recent get a friend involved and I am wanting to connect with this community as well to give and receive inspiration. I can't wait to get to know everyone! h Zahnter > Someone recently asked about setting up some sort of a chat. Guest guest
Welcome all you who are new.... I've been working through the assignments in the book. Some I have done in the past I have followed 's podcast but I think it is useful to do it in the very systematic way the book lays it out. Of course, it means the reading goes slower because I am stopping to journal. Occassionally a sentence or paragraph really grabs my attention. Last night I read, reread and the wrote these couple of sentences in my journal. I have since posted it on my bathroom mirror and plan on sticking a copy of it in my backpocket to help me choose health as I move forward. It is not earth shattering but nonetheless really speaking to me and I thought I would post it here for you all in case it speaks to you as well.   " If you continue as you are now what will your future look like? "  Take a peak at one year from now. How do you feel about yourself? What opportunites have you missed? What's the state of your relationships? How is your health? Zoom out five years dwon the road. Assumibng nothing has changed, what does your life look like? How do you feel? How's your self-esteem? Now imagine maintaining the status quo for another ten years. "  Good luck everyone as you begin this new full-filled week.  Livingston ________________________________ To: insideoutweightloss Sent: Sunday, January 8, 2012 9:48 AM Subject: Re: Full-filled Intros and support  > > >> > > > >> > Hello friends..
