Guest guest
Oh I have most definitely figured out why I like overeating. It comforts me. It makes me feel in control of at least something in my life. I mean I feel awful 5 minutes later but I feel great while I do it. And I know why I " like " being overweight. It was initially for protection. From sexual advances. From attention. I thought people would leave me alone. It got me attention from the 2 people that I wanted to notice me. My mother and my father. Sent from my iPhone > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I am new to the group even though I have been listening to the podcasts for a while. Guest guest
Welcome! Sometimes it takes a while to discover exactly where you are. Sometimes, there's multiple reasons. I'm discovering that I have multiple reasons as to why I enjoy over eating. It's amazing what you can discover about yourself on this journey. Thank you for sharing it with us! ________________________________ To: insideoutweightloss Sent: Monday, November 7, 2011 3:13:12 PM Subject: Hello from London  Hello everyone, I am new to the group even though I have been listening to the podcasts for a while. I hope to find support and to be of support to fellow members. I want to share my IOWL journey with you. So far I have been listening. I keep repeating podcast 2 & 3 trying to find the part of me that likes being fat. I haven't found it yet, but at least I started imagining the new me and that is really inspiring. Guest guest
Hello and Welcome I have never categorically pinned it down to something specific. Each time I do the guided journey it has a different edge, but I feel renewed and released when I do it. Not having a specific answer won't hold you back on the journey - it can be just recognising that it was about the gift of something positive so that you can stop hating yourself for the past choices you have made. Mine have been around comfort from feeling inadequate and unsure. Feeling I will be found out as a masquerader as a together and organised person (which is where my self esteem coming from). I also eat as a reward for getting through days which are less fulfilling that I wanted. Guest guest
I feel protected but also a little badass.. I mean.. How many women with 50 lbs to lose can run a marathon and much of the other stuff I do? If I lose the weight, how will I be special? (nevermind that even ideal weighted people don't run marathons for the most part.. heheheh)

To turn it around like your statement - how many women successfully lose 50 lbs??? :-) > (nevermind that even ideal weighted people don't run marathons for the > most part.. heheheh) > I have a goal to complete a marathon in 2013. It's on my bucket list. I figured, I can do a half-marathon in 2012, then a full when I'm 50. <g> Eldred
