Guest guest
Hello, I joined the Yahoo group about a week ago and have been checking in once in a while this week. I have been listening to the podcasts for a little over a year, and have, during that time, made some very healthy changes in my eating habits, and have dropped about 15 lbs. I'd like to lose another 25, but, more than seeing numbers on the scale go down, I want to be more mobile, feel better, live longer, have more fun, and have THOSE desires be in the driver's seat of my life. I'd like to stop my mindless, compulsive behavior around food, and build a new relationship where food is sometimes a deliberate pleasure and most often a necessary incidental but always just the right fuel that I need to feel good. I am a mother and grandmother, in my 5th decade, an elementary school teacher, a reader, writer, swimmer, hiker, sailor, and music-lover. I'd like to focus more on these things, and less--a LOT less--on what I eat. I have made great progress over the last year and a half, but I want to ramp it up! So there are my away-from, and towards motivations--at least what I have identified for now. I pre-ordered the book, and spent last week reading and re-reading the first chapter. Also, listened again to the prologue and first two podcasts. This multimedia approach will be helpful, I hope. I arranged with a friend to check in with each other every day. He has not discovered IOWL yet, but is taking his own approach. Today, I read the beginning of the 2nd chapter. I have been doing a little reading and/or listening every day, to keep my intentions in front of me. Today, I am also writing to introduce myself. Hello again!
