Guest guest
Hi , 1. Welcome! 2. Excellent intentions. 3. Oh my lord, an IOWL podcast virgin! What I would give to hear them again for the first time. There are over 200 of them, and they are free! The early episodes do contain non- ads from her sponsors, during the intermission and at the end, but somewhere around episode 65 they become less intrusive, the ads drop off the end completely (anyone else miss " Don't let thieves get YOU, " lol). She still takes a break midway, but the intermission is just more of . Yay! You can download all of the archives here and drag the files into your iTunes library, and then make sure you subscribe via iTunes so you never miss a single episode. They come out once a week. http://personallifemedia.com/podcasts/216-inside-out-weight-loss ________________________________ To: " insideoutweightloss " <insideoutweightloss > Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 6:52 PM Subject: RE: I'm a newbie and have a question  Thanks Marcia. So glad you'll be joining us! Your intentions are right on target--things to move us toward the life we want to live. Are you aware of 's podcasts? The book and first podcasts are very similar, and I like using them to reinforce what I read. Also, the guided meditations are lots easier to do by listening. Keep us posted on your journey! I'm a newbie to the group and am just beginning the Full-Filled book. I have about 100 pounds to " release " and have struggled off and on with food for about 40 years. I just turned 59 and have been on almost every diet that is out there. I became a lifetime member of Weight Watchers back in the early 70's when I only had 15 pounds to release. I was able to do that and maintain it long enough to become a lifetime member. Needless to say I have gained all of that back. In the early 90's I once again released weight using Weight Watchers to the tune of 80 pounds and once again gained it all back. In November of 2010 I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes that I have been able to control with diet and exercise and no drugs. I ended 2011 being 20 pounds lighter than I began so I have made some progress. However, I feel as if I am struggling and the book Full-Filled caught my attention at the book store this weekend. I just don't want to " struggle " with the food anymore. I feel I do " hand to hand " combat with it all the time. I'm either perfect or " bad " . I don't want to beat myself up anymore. So here I am and I're ready to learn and make changes. I have attempted to get other people interested in doing this with me; but have struck out so far. That is why I am here. I know I need support. I'll keep asking and hopefully will come up with someone face to face to work the book with me. My question though concerns week 1. I'm supposed to set an intention to create motivation for lasting change. I'm still unsure of how to do that or if what I'm doing is correct. Here is what I've come up with so far. How does that look? I'm very interested in what some others used in the beginning for their intention. 1. My intention is to be free from the bondage of food. 2. My intention is to have an A1C below 6.5. 3. My intention is to feel totally energized and nourished by the food I eat. A little bit more about me. I've been married for the past 38 years. My husband has been in AA since 1993 and I've been in Al-Anon the same amount of time. I started having panic attacks in 1991 and they became so bad that I finally seeked therapy for an abusive childhood and the panic attacks in 2004. I struggle with travel phobia that further than 50 miles or so from home. I sometimes have anxiety that can be almost debilitating but I move through it anyway. I don't take medication for that and love it when I realize I haven't had any anxiety that day at all. Thanks in advance for any help! I hope you all have a great day and week. :-)
