Guest guest
Hi, Everyone. Welcome to the new members. Please don't get discouraged when you overeat or binge or whatever. I think I'm binging MORE right at the moment than I have in a LONG time and I'm making HUGE progress... how is that? I'm in therapy. So while I'm unpacking years of depression and angst and stuff, I turn to food some of the time. Is it the best way to go? No. But unpacking self esteem and self sabotage and LIFE issues that contribute to depression have taken on more priority than what I eat or my weight issues. I loved the idea of writing WHILE eating. What a great idea! Thanks... I think I'll do that with clearings while eating and see what happens. There is an EFT newsletter I subscribe to that has an interesting idea about using EFT and sounds to express emotions. I liked the idea and bought the mp3 but you don't have to--you can get the idea from the article, here: http://www.masteringeft.com/MeridianTappingTimes/Mar-12-12/SoundoftheStruggle.ht\ m The 9 points he uses are Eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone, underarm, gamut point and top of head. I understand what he means by the effect of sounds without words. When I was a young girl at a parochial school, feeling bad about myself because the brimstone aspect rather than the loving aspect of God was emphasized, a gentle friend's mom who went to the Vineyard introduced me to the idea of personal prayer language " tongues " --not the type that everyone can interpret but a private prayer venue. I moved away from it, and religion, for a long time, but when I came back to spirituality, I find that just doing the " tongues " prayer is strangely soothing--AND as an adult, I decided to be Episcopalian. So I'm liturgical, sacramental and incarnational in theology--but I like to pray in tongues too. So this form of EFT is great in my opinion. Try it and see.
