Guest guest
Welcome, Judy! There are some people here who are *very* good at making mental connections that help others... Guest guest
Hi and welcome I raced through them all then went back and more slowly re-listened to them all, some a few times. Guest guest
Hi Judy- Don't beat yourself up. I cant speak for everyone but I too have had similar pathways. And yes, the tendency is to want to be embarrassed and all that. We are human. There are certainly worse ways of being. Think of all your positive traits and focus on those. Be your own best friend. I am currently racing through all the podcasts but I know I will slowly go through them all again and probably listened to a few of them more than one time that is for sure. I see my change as a wave. It is building momentum. Little changes have happened and continue to happen, This I feel adds to the momentum. SO all my WW and therapy advice is culminating. All the best to you Judy! Lori > > Hi-- > > I'm Judy and I'm frustrated, ashamed, and embarrassed to STILL be dealing with disordered eating at the age of 51. Guest guest
Welcome! I listened to around three new ones each week--but re-played the " old " ones as often as I needed. Do what feels right to you. :-) >________________________________ > >To: " insideoutweightloss " <insideoutweightloss > >Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2012 3:09 AM >Subject: Re: New! Guest guest
Welcome Bonnie, I think gave you great suggestions! I too try to make sure that I eat at regular intervals, about 3 hours apart. Also, I have a balance of protein, carbs, fats, and veggies, so that my meal sustains me. I've also started to squeeze lemon and lime into ice water, for those in-between times when I'm a little bit hungry but it really isn't time for a meal or a snack. One final strategy I use is to really, really slow down. My daughter, who is 8, has unfortunately adopted my super speedy eating behavior. So we've started setting a timer for 20 minutes, so that we are sure to slow down and savor our meals. Now she makes a game of it and always wants the clock to beat her. Warmly,
Guest guest
Hi Judy, Please don't feel any shame at all! I spent the past 30 years binging and losing. It wasn't until a month ago, finding 's podcasts, that I actually saw a change! I've been listening to the podcasts non-stop. I think it's fine to race through them, or relisten to them, or listen and digest them. Really, I think all that matters is listening to them and absorbing what she says. I seem to listen to a bunch, then I realize that I need to go back and relearn some concepts, and so I go back and relisten. Anyway, it's great that you are using them now!
