Guest guest
I think it's great to journal about both, but the success journal for me is a place to give myself credit for the positive changes I'm making. Guest guest
Hi Dora: To put it simply, both success and gratitude are ways of keeping you on a positive track where life is not a struggle but a journey. I start my day and end my day by listing what I'm grateful for in my life. You will find that when you get out of whack and stop, breathe and shift your mind into gratitude mode you will feel calm and blessed very quickly. I do it in my head but many people actually write it down. Do whatever works for you but DO IT!! You will see how easy it is to get in the flow again with this simple technique. More importantly you will see how much you have to be grateful for even when life is not going your way. As for success journaling that is a tool to keep track of the successes in your life as you make the changes you want to make. It is a way to reinforce the tools you are learning but also a way to look back when you need a booster shot of hope!! If you ate one cookie instead of the box and felt good write it down and record why that is a success for you. If you ate the whole box but realized something about yourself that is significant to help you when the situation arises again. WRITE IT DOWN!! In the beginning, I wrote a lot but now I just record everything and play it back when I'm feeling stuck or low. I hit the voice memo on my iPhone and collect the cheers of success to play whenever I need a reminder of how far I've come or a kick in the butt to keep going! GO JULIE GO JULIE GO JULIE!! Point made? : ) Love and gratitude sprinkled with a dollop of success! > Hi > Even though i have done the course read the book and listen to the podcasts i am still confused with success and gratitude. > I read so much about gratitude journalling and listen to but i am not clear. > I would appreciate some feedback. Guest guest
, YES! Don't forget: There Is No Failure, Only Feedback (which makes me think of Ghostbusters for some reason... ;-) ) If learn something from the feedback, this is a GOOD THING! Guest guest
Dear , I too have very similar journaling patterns - gratitude and success in the morning and at night. For years and years, I was only journaling in the morning. It was a great way to start my day full of gratitude and feeling proud of those ways in which I'd taken care of myself. I actually called it " credits " as in " I give myself credit for... " and I'd write five things I'd done the day before to take care of myself. With IOWL I began doing the same exercise at night, before bed. I realized that the day was long and full of stress and that I'd often go to bed having forgotten all the things I'd written in the morning. It's been really nice to add the PM journal and it really doesn't take much time.
