Guest guest
Even if I eat 'healthy' stuff(meaning non-fast food), I still eat a lot of it. I eat when I'm not hungry, and sometimes already stuffed. And I still haven't figured out what gift overeating or being fat is giving me. I *really* need to get in shape for my charity ride in July, but it's not looking good at the moment... Eldred -- Raising money for Make-a-Wish! Guest guest
Hi Eldred: Bravo for the progress of eating healthy food! You are a big step in the right direction. Since you have a mission, I would give up on trying to figure out " the gift " for now and just focus on how you want to feel. What will it feel like, look like, sound like to be at the charity ride in a smaller body? What will people say to you as you cross the finish line? Imagine all the details of the experience of being at the event in a healthier frame of mind, body, etc. Focus on this throughout your day, before every meal, every snack, when you wake up and before you go to bed. Picture yourself delivering your check to the charity and getting all the wonderful hugs from all the grateful people. You deserve all this and you can make it happen just bring it to life CONSTANTLY in every cell of your being and the rest will fall into place. If something isn't working do something different! Keep asking yourself solution oriented questions: What can I do today to prepare for my charity ride? How can I structure my meals and my day so I eat just the right amount of food to feel satisfied but not stuffed? What steps can I can take right now to accomplish my goals? Who can I get to assist me? Here's another trick I use: I write 10 feelings I want to feel every day and keep it on my computer and then structure my day around accomplishing those feelings! What are 10 Feelings you want to feel and how can you feel them everyday? Keep checking with your list to see if you felt that feeling today. Here's my list: 1. CREATIVE 2. HELPFUL 3. ADVENTUROUS 4. STIMULATED/EXCITED/EXHILARATED 5. CALM/PEACEFUL/ BALANCED 6. ORGANIZED 7. PRODUCTIVE 8. CONNECTED 9. PLAYFUL 10. RENEWED I hope this helps! It's interesting that you would ask this. I remember listening to the episode where you're supposed to 'step into' the thinner you that you want to become. I couldn't do it, because I couldn't picture that guy... I could almost picture a YOUNGER me before I got fat, but not a future me. > If something isn't working do something different!
