I have been listening to the podcasts that are available on iTunes and would

love to be able to start at the beginning and download them to my iPod Touch,

which I use mostly for podcasts -- I listen to them while out for a walk and

gardening.

Here's my problem: when I go to

http://personallifemedia.com/podcasts/216-inside-out-weight-loss and scroll to

the bottom, I click on Download for the prologue. I can listen to it while

connected via wifi to the Internet but it's not saved, so I can't listen later.

and I don't see an option to choose where to save it.

I wish all the episodes were available via iTunes -- they make it so easy for

this techno-challenged listener. (If it's relevant, I use iCloud to sync my

iTunes downloads, so I don't really know how to copy them from my computer to my

itouch without messing up other things.

I've looked at many pages of messages at the group's yahoo site to no avail. I

am feeling envious of all of you who have figured this out!

Thanks!

No worries Dearknitter!

Here's what you do.

1. on your COMPUTER (not your iphone) Go to the IOWL feedburner page:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/InsideOutWeightLoss

2. Scroll to the bottom for the oldest episodes

3. Find the episode you want, RIGHT mouseclick on the " play now " link,

and the option that says something like " save as " or " save link as " .

4. You'll then (probably) be given the option to save the mp3 to your

computer.

5. Repeat steps 1-4 for as many podcast episodes as you like. I like to

do them in 1-week batches - ie 7 at a time.

6. Open up your iTunes, and in the file menu, select " add files to

library " . Navigate to where you saved the episodes, and select them all.

You can select more than one by holding down the control key and clicking

multiple files.

7. hit " open " , and iTunes will import these podcasts into your library.

8. Now for the fun part. Once they're in your library, select all the

files, right mouse click and go to " get info " . Go to the options tab, and

change the " media kind " from " music " to " podcast " - and voila! It will

disappear from your music library and appear in your podcast list.

If you're still not sure what to do from this point, let me know and I'll

talk you through manually transferring podcasts to your iphone. :)

If you're on a windows based computer, Ctrl-click the Download button and select

Download linked file as.

Then you can browse to wherever you want to save the file on your computer, once

it's downloaded, you can drag it into the iTunes library.

and a past tip from

Hi :

The podcasts are in itunes under Inside Out Weight Loss and you can

subscribe there.  There is a link on PLM.  I have a Mac and to

download the podcasts from PLM you just hit option and left click on

the words Play Now.  Once it is on your computer,  I would move it to

itunes and then sync your ipod with your computer.  If you have a PC

then just click on Play Now the way you would on anything you would

want to download (sorry memory is fading..haven't used a PC in years)

but essentially it's the same after that.

Good luck!
