Guest guest
Hi , I too am looking for a chat room. After my computer crashed I lost all of my "favorites" and so, all my chat rooms. They were all chronic pain chats. I love this group and have been with this list for a few years. but I don't post often. Some times I need to "talk" to someone instead of waiting for a return post. Let me know if you find any O.K.? Krag52 Kathleen in California

Guest guest
My brother had severe sleep apnea. He was DX at a sleep clinic. There were no meds, just a harness-type thing that would go on his head that held a small oxygen mask onto his nose. He hadn't sleep that well in years. I would suggest getting it checked out ASAP. I often wondered if that contributed to his early death from a heart attack. He was only 45 years old. Please get checked out. Beth L. > To those writing about sleep apnea. Guest guest
Peggy, my sister is not taking the benadryl anymore, the neurologist gave her a percription for ultram12 1/2 mg to 25mg every 6 hours. So I backed off the benadryl It seems when she is really feeling bad is when she does all the sleeping. The neurologist said the headaches may be coming from arthritis in the neck, and to give her tylenol for arthritis, which I did, but it didn't help. The 25mg of ultram seems to do more than anything I have given her. Yesterday was not a good day, but today she has not complained with a headache so far---------. Has been up most of the day and acts like she feel as good as she usually does. It is such a mystery!! She also breaks out in sweats for no reason. The hallucinations did stop when she went on the aricept 10mg about 3 1/2 years ago. I will keep you posted. Jayn in S GA

Guest guest
hey Courage, I should also mention that Sleep Apnea affects the person you are sleeping with because it disturbs their sleep too! My husband was pretty grouchy for a while before I was dx and treated, lol! > >> >> > >> >> Hello to all, > >> >> My sister is sleeping a lot and I mean all night and probably 6- > >8 > >> >hours a > >> >> day!!!! Guest guest
Dear Jayn, here we go.. if someone is deficient in all 8 monosaccarides that are crucial to life then the body takes up all its energy to make them, because the body would rather be tired than dead. Being miraculous creatures that we are, the body can convert glucose and galactose ( which are readily available in the diet) into the other 6. However it takes up a lot of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and energy to do so. I know of quite a few chronic fatigue sufferers, who after supplementing their diet with the other 6 monosaccarides so that the body doesnt have to convert anymore, have had their chronic fatigue lift within a few weeks. If your sister is always tired she might find relief from that as well. At the same time she may find relief from the arthritis ( as my mother in law does) and she may even find her headaches go away. At least it is a totally non toxic alternative. It would be a pity if she has to be on toxic drugs ( every drug has some toxicity level) if perhaps she is merely deficient in something natural. Maybe worth a try. Guest guest
Hi Josie, yes it probably certainly would help. I dont know of any studies done though that advise which vitamins and minerals would be necessary for which sugar. I have seen biochemists here in Melbourne explain on charts how the body does the conversion. Going by that I think it would be a very complicated way to go. One chart showed there are 34 processes to convert from one sugar to the other. I guess if you take a good full spectrum of all vitamins and minerals and let the body sort it out, that would be the best option. However it would be much quicker to simply feed the body the sugars than wait until it can build itself up to use its back up system of making the sugars. I had a fellow come into our house one day to sell us life and trauma insurance. I had never met him before, but he used his sorry story of how his marriage nearly went to pieces because of his chronic fatigue to convince us to buy trauma insurance because his line was, you never know when things get you down. Well I thought I better tell him about glyconutrients and he replied that, well actually he didnt have chronic fatigue anymore because his Doctor put him on to the same glyconutrients. His Doctor had tried every natural therapy, including vitamins etc and even sent him up to sunny Queensland here. Well she rang him up when he was there and told him to come back and try the glyconutrients. Which he is forever thankful for that he did, because that did the trick where as everything else didnt. When my Dad was ill with prostrate cancer I pumped what I thought was a good multivitamin in to him after he came home desperately weak after an operation. He improved dramatically in three weeks, in as much as he could get out of bed again and he lived on another year. I often wondered later whether his body had actually used the multi vitamins to convert the sugars. It didnt save him in the end though. I wish I would have taken the glyconutrients serious earlier, I had the chance. Now I have got to know a fellow who has had prostrate cancer and is over it. He takes heaps of glyconutrients and phytonutrients. You tell me if it helps him. It seems to. All the best to you too, Ilse Begin forwarded message: > From: regattabh@... > Date: Mon Oct 6, 2003 8:56:24 AM Australia/Melbourne > To: LBDcaregivers > Subject: Re: Re: (no subject) > Reply-To: LBDcaregivers > > In a message dated 10/5/2003 6:23:23 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > aschenbrenner2@... writes: > the body can convert glucose and > galactose ( which are readily available in the diet) into the other 6. > However it takes up a lot of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and energy to > do so. > Dear Ilse: > > How about getting the vitamin and mineral supplements necessary until > the 8 > monosaccharides are more readily available? > > My best to you, Josie > > >
