Guest guest
Hi I just joined this yahoo group. Don't know how to communicate yet with others here. Don't see where to read posts and reply. Just for making a post, such as I am doing. Love 's podcasts, but still nedd personal contact with others and support. I had lost 90 lbs. about 10 yrs. ago with Atkins diet. Now I am a vegetarian and I have gained those 90 lbs. back! Help please! I am ALWAYS hungry. I eat 4-6 medium meals a day to try to combat the hunger. Nuts and greens are my high protein foods. I just always feel like eating and snacking all day. Is anyone else experiencing extreme hunger pains in between meals? If so, when do they go away? Guest guest
Welcome, Bonnie! You're doing fine - just say what you feel, and someone will probably be able to relate. Guest guest
Welcome, Bonnie. When you're following the naturally slender eating strategy--you should feel *some* hunger. If you picture a scale from 0 (totally, completely empty) to 10 (stuffed to the gills), you probably don't want to get lower than a 2 on the hunger scale, and you probably don't want to go above an 8 on the fullness side. When I want to maintain, I find I eat around a 3, and stop around a 6-7. When I want to release some weight, I aim more for eating at a 2, and stopping at 5-6. It sounds to me like you're getting down to 0 or 1 between meals. How do you feel when you finish? Do you make yourself stop too soon? Are you allowing yourself to eat enough to get you through? If you don't get a good read on your own hunger levels, you might want to buy 's appetite adjuster guided journey. But there are also regular podcasts that deal with hunger. So that's the " inside out " step--looking at how you feel. Another approach might be to look at the food itself, and the how and when... How much you have in each of those 4-6 medium meals? Maybe if you had three big meals and three snacks, you'd feel better? What are you eating besides nuts and greens? Those are very nutritions... but not very filling, over the long haul. Well, unless you eat more nuts than you should.... Are you also getting grains? What about other types of vegetables that last longer than greens? Are you getting enough healthy fats? When I'm not eating meat, I do much better if I make sure to get tahini (sesame paste) every day. It has a lot of nutrients besides the fat content (iron springs to mind, but there are more). I tend to eat seasonally--I can't stand meat in the summer. This summer I'm almost off eggs and dairy, too--but I find it takes more planning. The completely plant-based meals leave me feeling good overall--but not as long. So I am consulting recipes and meal plans more than I would if I also included animal products. Is there anything in particular you're craving? There may be a specific nutrient you're not getting enough of (like me and my sesame cravings). Look at cravings (as opposed to regular hunger) as a tool, too. They can be a good pointer to what you really need. OK, this feels very long and rambly. I hope there's something in there that helps you find the right direction. >________________________________ > >To: insideoutweightloss >Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2012 8:07 PM >Subject: just joined > > > >Hi I just joined this yahoo group.
