Guest guest
welcome Loni, this is a great place for you to be. you will find a lot of knowledge and experience here. about the insurance....with her autism diagnosis she just may qualify for SSI and if she does she may qualify for medicaid. You would apply through the social security administration for that. I think there are other people here that have kids who recieve SSI so they may be able to give you more info on that. Good luck and remember you are never alone. I have her in early intervention it seems to help a lil. I just wander what the future holds for her. I would love some other parents to talk to about these issues an maybe there are things to try that I havent yet, im a single mom of 4 an we dont have health insurance so her options are limited. Guest guest
Loni, WELCOME!!! I think it is great that your daughter is getting some early interventions.....do you have a DAN! practitioner yet? You may want one and also please please please consider getting heavy metal testing done and trying Gluten casein free diet. I wish I had made my whole family try back then but my family has pickiness too. SO many people have great outcomes. We did a lot when my daughter was young. We did ABA - home program, supernuthera (kirkman's vitamins), secretin infusions, SPEECH therapy, Occupational therapy, tried a typical daycare with aide at age 2years, AIT (auditory integrated therapy), theraputic horseback riding therapy, some meds when she was a little older like risperdol & clonidine (which i regret...due to weight gain). We also did miralax for severe constipation which I really regret. We are doing Methyl b-12 and lots of supplements that our DAN! suggested. She is doing a lot better. Let us know what works with Jayla. Guest guest
Well...I like saunas and really hot showers, yes I cough stuff up after but it's more of like a clearning type of feeling. In my opinion, a lot of us struggle with exercise because there aren't many types of exercises that are good for us, and that we don't get problems from. Running, jogging, aerobic stuff is mostly out of the question for me at least. I would definitely give this yoga stuff a try. While I haven't done yoga per se, I've had positive results with daily stretching, etc...I'd like to know how it goes. I've been "ghosting" for a while as I gather information. I 'm not banded yet, but looking into it. Can't get it done until March 09 due to insurance anyway. I'm feeling pretty low at the moment. I went to my first info night last week at North Shore Private. Wasn't sure if I'd be a candidate, but the clinical nurse said I should be. That was the good news. Bad news is I bought a new set of scales today, and I'm 100.1kg. I'm pretty sure it's the heaviest I've been. And I'm only 20 years old. I've tried so many ways to lose weight before and failed. I don't want to get fatter before I have surgery because it's just going to be further to come back. Not sure what I should do. I'm lacking motivation and confidence. ------------------------------------ PLEASE NOTE: If you experience any problems with any surgeons, doctors or other health professionals and their Code Of Conduct at any stage of your band journey, the arena you need to discuss this will be within the privacy of their surgery or rooms, with them not us. Guest guest
Hi , I was banded at North Shore Private last December, they are a great team. Have you got an appointment with the dietitian yet - when you see her maybe she can set you an eating plan to last you till your insurance kicks in. there are actually quite a few of us that were banded at North Shore, so don't feel shy about asking for help here.
