Guest guest
After going through a few threads, I noticed that some folks use Dr. RW Noble. He is my doc as well. Does anyone know how well versed he is with adrenal problems? > > I wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'm currently being > treated for hypo, among other hormone insufficiencies. Guest guest
I found exactly one doc who is really good for adrenal issues. That is E. Steve in Lubbock. He used to teach and do research at UT Southwestern Medical School with steroid hormones as his area of specialization. Quite a few of us in the DFW area find it worth our while to make the trip to Lubbock. He understands how all of the hormones work together and prescribes compounded bio-equivalent sex and adrenal hormones along with Armour Thyroid. He is also the one doc who has been of help to folks with difficulty tolerating a suitable dose of thyroid hormone. While he does prescribe the hormones that many anti-aging docs do, his practice is more "thyro-centric" than most of theirs. I am surprised that your doc is just now getting around to testing your cortisol levels. The prescribing info for all thyroid meds states that any adrenal insufficiency should be treated before thyroid meds are started. andy_cruikshank wrote: I wanted to introduce myself and say hello. In fact, he PREFERS Armour to any other thyroid med. When I was first tested, my T4 was very low, although my FT3 was just about midway in the range. DHEA was also low, below the minimum. Through research, I've found that low T4 and low DHEA COULD mean adrenal insufficiency. I'm wondering more and more about this as now I'm unable to tolerate 1 grain of armour. I end up becomming very anxious with hyper symptoms. I went to check my cortisol on Wednesday morning and should have results back by early next week. If cortisol is low, I'll have an ACTH Stimulation test to confirm adrenal insufficiency. My questions to you all are:1)I don't know how knowledgable my doc will be when it comes to AI. Have any of you found good docs when it comes to Adrenal issues?2)How have those of you gone about treating adrenal issues? I've read about prednisone and hydrocortisone, but that's about it.Any other advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!Drew Yahoo! Photos – Showcase holiday pictures in hardcover Photo Books. Guest guest
Jan, Do you think that Dr. could help me sort out the elevated readings I have on these hormones (estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, testosterone . . .), not to mention thyroid (but only in serum tests, not saliva . . .)? Thanks, kidbobo > I wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'm currently being > treated for hypo, among other hormone insufficiencies. Guest guest
That's what I've been thinking, too, a generalized resistance. High readings of many of those hormones can be associated with increased blood glucose, which makes me crazy. Thanks, I'll contact them. > > > > I found exactly one doc who is really good for adrenal issues. That > is E. Steve in Lubbock.
