I'd give the Rheummy a call back to phone in another dose of pred. and wean off

of it over a two month cycle..

Sounds like your in the middle of a good flare! I hope your organs are in good

health. Battle the Dragon and good luck..........*............

Prednisone

I took the dreaded prednisone for my terrible sore throat and even gave in

to the antiobiotics. I tell you, I haven't felt so well in a LONG time.

Christmas Eve/Day I had so much energy and felt great. But it was only a 5

day dose (40 mg) and today I'm experiencing the crash of no more prednisone.

UGH.

Fever went right back up (low grade) and body aches are back with a

vengence. I'm so bummed. Just wanna go to bed again. That's it. Just

wish it would have lasted...

All I can say is what happened to me one it. I did notice I became very

depressed and would get angry faster then normal. Well in the end the

wife divorced me and she had this to say to others at the time. " docs

would never give you any thing that would hurt you or change who you are

he is just awful all the time and has been from day one " well this was

said after two years on pred and with stills . At the time we had been

together for 24 years 5 engaged and the rest married. So if I was that

way all the time how come she married me? How come she stayed with me

tell I could not work any more because of stills and all the meds? If I

meant any thing how come she tock every thing from me and left me with

an old truck some clothing and 45 cents to my name? Well I know, selfish

that is why. As to her life is only about her not the kids or husband.

we used all my retirement but when I asked if we could us some of the

savings to make bills I was told that was for a rainy day (and here I

thought we were in a down pour at the time with me not working and bills

adding up) well now I know it was for her rainy day not the kids or mine

..this has played out in the years fallowing now my son is for no other

words to use suicidal at times extremely depressed. He gets no support

from his mom or step dad emotionally or financially they even threw him

out of the house when they got married. This was after promising his 3

kids and my two that they would build a new home with room for them all.

Well they only sold my house and threw him out only and let the rest

live with them because my son would not change his last name. Out of the

5 ids he is the 3rd youngest. , my daughter who asked for me to take her

here and there rocker her even thou she was 12 has nothing to do with me

and is afraid of me because of things her mom told her. Ya I am still

hurt and mad over it all not because I get ride of her but for what she

has put I and the kids threw and how badly she has destroyed my son. So

yup pred can screw you over in ways you never know .I just get happy

when I read on here how others have supportive spouses like I should

have had back then and I do have now fact the best gift given to me was

a divorce and if stills is to blame then I say thank you as my wife now

is the greatest even when I am not

O so ya I guess it did make me aggressive and depressed plus fat LOL

also sorry for venting but even after all the years have passed I am

still angry as hell over how the kids and I were treated by her and the

state of Idaho . One state I will never return to even thou I miss

living there.

Forgive me if I seem to be putting my nose in but I have to tell you if you

don't forgive your ex-wife and your past situation you aren't going to feel as

good as you can. I too ended an 18 year marriage with divorce that had mostly

to do with my illness but we didnt' know what was wrong with me at the time.

A lot of emotions get stirred up and magnified beyond belief during a

divorce. Once we decided that past was past and that our behaviour did nothing

positive for our kids we stopped, forgave and go forward. I have learned with

that and my new marriage that it is almost impossible for someone to know what

we

are going through physically and emotionally. It can be very lonely but stay

positive. You are the most important one and you must take care of yourself

by avoiding stress when possible. I am a new member here and I hope I am not

I right now have the type of dry sore throat I mentioned in an earlier

post. It is not so much severe as persistent and wears me down because

of the persistence. I called my doctor and asked for an allergy

referral. I have allergies but have not been tested for exactly what

they are in a long time. The doctor instead wants to give me a

prescription for prednisone. I would like some opinions on the

prednisone. I am leary of taking it without first going the allergy

route.
