Guest guest
Hi , I am glad that your daughter is doing better. I also found your comment on the filters on a/c very interesting. I guess you would know with yours broken down. I lived in Mississippi for 7 years, and actually found my asthma not so bad there with the hot humid air. I am thinking that some people are different tho. The high humidity kept down the dust, especially inside, but molds were up....I have a bad time with mold. Guest guest
Thank you all. , I know because I worked as an design drafter in an HVAC factory (I won't name which one) . But this fact is true across the board with almost all a/c designs. We use the Vornado HEPA purifiers for our house. We have one that is a whole house one that goes on the central air and one in the kids room that we put in front of the air vent. I know that the dust is cut down in the humidity, but like you, my daughter is more affected by the mold than the dust, so we clean our evaporator coil before we turn it on by brushing everything off and then pouring clorox over it and down the drain valve. I would suggest if you don't know how to do this yourself, it is well worth it to pay someone to come out and take care of it as it does increase your air flow and the amount of water taken out of the air. > > > > My daughter, 6, was having a real hard time, 1-2 attacks a day for the > > last two years. Guest guest
they just came out with new air vents filters, so that you can pule your vent from your floor and stick a filter in it, I was told to order some filters and cut it to fit all the vents in the house, but looks like Home Depot or Lowes carries the product. Guest guest
I saw those vent filters on Lowe's webpage. I am a little leary of those. After a hospital visit last year my daughter came and put cheese cloth on every vent, especially in a room that I would be in. It cut the air off too much from the A/C that I took them down. These new vents might be different. It might be worth a try. Guest guest
try it in a closed room and see what happens, if anything you can benefit from it, I haven't bought them yet, because of the same concern but it probably works fine, since the product probably as been tested as it would be a common concern....
