Guest guest
I want to offer my apologies also if I was the cause of hurt feelings. Having been online for so many years, it's easy to forget that there are new people getting hooked up to the net every single day, to whom this is a new, wonderful, and often very confusing world. It holds some of the best of humanity, but it also holds some of the worst. Probably 15% of the emails that I receive in a day have to do with virii, virus hoaxes, other email hoaxes, chain letters, spam, or something else to " fret " over. It gets very trying sometimes, but that doesn't excuse my being rude or harsh when replying to someone whose circumstances I don't know, and who, like this new member, hasn't had time to learn about chain letters and netiquette. Again, I apologize if I spoke too harshly or caused hurt feelings - that was not my intention at all. I would just like everyone to become a bit wary and educated about the types of things that they're liable to be sent on the net, and learn to check EVERYTHING out before believing it, and particularly before passing it on to others. I hope that our new member will feel at home here and be willing to share with us and let us offer her support and help, and maybe even listen to US whine every now and then ;-) And now I'll be quiet unless somebody posts to the list asking to have their name removed because they've trashed their welcome letter and can't figure it out on their own<bg>. -

Guest guest
Hi Ray, You pointed out some things in your message that alot of us tend to forget on this type of list. People don't join medical support lists to learn netiquette or to be yelled at - they join because they have a problem (usually pretty severe to be on a list like this one) and they need the help and support of other members. I forgot that yesterday, and I thank you so much for reminding me of it. - At 12:32 AM 12/19/01 -0500, you wrote: >, >What a lovely message. Guest guest
Thank you everyone for the apologies. I apologize for sending the chain letter. I guess I tend to have a caring heart and believe things like the letter I sent. It was so convincing, a little girl needing help. I am a new member. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for just about 2 months and Reflex sympathetic dystrophy in the right upper extremity. I am still trying to deal with all of this and the death of my parents. My mother just died Oct.5th of this year and my dad Oct. 27th of last year. I am not working due to stress, pain and the inability to handle 8 hours of work a day right now. I am working on a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems. I am not sure if I will be able to hold a job in that field with the things that seem to be happening to me lately. I was up all night last night unable to sleep. I can't seem to relax and put things out of my mind. I am worried about bills. My pay check use to be the bigger one in the family and now I am getting no money at this time. My husband is working tons of overtime to make ends meet. I don't know what to do for work. My doctor is sending me to another doctor for an evaluation on what I can do and can't do for work purposes. How am I suppose to function. I have problems sleeping one night then I sleep all day the next to make up for the lost sleep. My meds make me forget things. I have pain that causes trouble staying on the computer long, and that is my life. How am I suppose to just learn to live with this as one doctor stated? Can anyone give me some advice. Thank you, Stella
