I think you are blowing this a little out of proportion. I'm not a

boozer and it had nothing to do with all the car accidents. The car

accidents always happened going to work in the morning because we

have such a poor freeway system in Des Moines. I was just making a

point that if you like to have a drink or two and are on pain

medication the two don't mix so you better decide probably not to

drink. I said booze and narcotics don't mix period so I think I was

making a point not to take pain medication and drink on top of it.

Booze

and narcotics just don't mix period.

No, they don't.I cannot take Ultram myself because they give me

incredible migraine headaches. They effect serotonin levels which is

not the case with narcotics. Why not take effective medications

including narcotics, and if you want a drink don't take them for a

week and then drink. Or better yet don't drink. I do not even sip at

a glass of wine with dinner. It is just the way it must be since I

did not choose to be injured I must force myself to make other

decisions (but in my case I never did drink anyway). Unless, the

alchohol is helping you with your pain which I imagine it could. I

don't think that is good for your liver though while the narcotic

medications help the pain and dont affect your liver. I do have

friends who drink, take their narcotic pain medication and also smoke

pot...I don't do that either but that's their choice and it works for

them. She has a back injury and he has an autoimmune disorder of some

type similar to a form of arthritis. We all have to make personal

decisions about our health and our treatment as far as we are able

to. Of course pot is not legal anyway so they are putting themselves

at that risk. I had a friend point out in this country that even with

all the problems we face as patients and getting effective treatment,

we have the ability to exhuaust every doctor in the country if that's

what we have to do to get help and its not like this in other

countries. We really do have advantages that we take for granted,

although I fear that if I lose treatment for my pain, again will I be

able to keep fighting the bullshit? I guess I will have to or just

erase myself from this planet finally for good.

I hope you were not referring to my response because I don't believe

I have ever judged anyone here. We are all entitled to our opinions

and I think that is what I gave, not judgement. Just for the record.

Take good care,
