Sorry to hear about your situation, I know it can be terribly uncomfortable,

and even painful :(

All I can suggest is, when you DO find something that works well for you,

CONTINUE to take it daily, even when you feel you do not have the problem.

For me its prune juice, and I DETEST the taste, but I have to take 6 oz

daily, and I have not had trouble since. Its good to continue with the

increased fluids and fiber, but I suggest trying to stay away from over the

counter remedies, like suppositories and metamucil, etc, since you DO become

dependent on them.

There are also colon cleanse products available, many of them in health food

or organic food stores. I believe those are very important, not only to

prevent constipation, but to clean your system as to allow proper absorption

of all nutrients. Hope that helps.

The mind is like a magnet. The quality and strength of your thoughts will

determine the quality and strength of what you attract into your life.

Therefore it is important to develop and maintain a positive mental attitude

about everything.

There is some new stuff out that my GI doc prescribed for me called " MiraLax " .

It is supposed to hold the water in the bowel, and supposed to work for those

with IBS in that it will help

for either constipation or diahrreah! Check w/ pharmacist or you doc. It did

work, but sometimes takes two or three days and is very gentle. The best thing

about it is that it is

tasteless when dissolved in water and does not get thick like that " snotty "

metamucil junk. *L*

my gyn doctor during the mid-80's mentioned perdiem.

it is a natural vegetable laxative and it comes in two

versions, one is overnight. yet, she insisted to put

oatmeal in the diet that would serve as a fiber for

bowels and reduce cholesterol.
