Guest guest
- did you mean in the UK? Yes, we do pay taxes... well, I don't at the moment as I'm a student, so I'm tax exempt in my part time job,but once I qualify (next July, if I pass my teacher training course which is what I am doing next year), I will ahve to pay then. Part of our taxes go back into funding the NHS, s that's what's paying for medicines etc. So we don't pay upfront, whcih means that there is not a proble with people not going to A & E, or their doctos etc, becuse they can't afford it. We do ahve to pay for some services, though - opticians (not sure if they come under the NHS as such, but an NHS charge exemption certificate crosses over to opticians), dentists, prescription charges (all free, though, for under 18s, people over a cvertain age, preganat women, work shy chavs for whom going out and earning a living is too hard, as it means they have to leave behind hteir TV, beer, heroin... , people on benefits, whether genuinely or cos they can't be botheed to work. Doctor's notes are also not free (unless you compain nicely as I did teh oher week, pointing out that had I not been passed from specialist to specialist then got lost in the system my wrist would have been sorted and I wouldn't need to note to say I need a computer / scribe for my exams) We do have the problem of 'health tourists' - people coming to theUK just for medical treatment cos it's free, but they are trying to clamp down on you. A hospital would not, of course, throw someone who was in danger out, but if someone was stable but not paying up, some are not throwing htem out unless they cough up the cash. We are also entitled to reduced cost medical treatment abroad with the European Health card, in EU countries, and also Switzerland and Norway (not in the EU), though as (touchwood) I have never needed medical care abroad, I don't know exactly how it works. Jenn Hill Tha can tek t'lass outta Yorkshire...! Don't brand me, don't classify me, don't tell me what to wear. I'll be who I want to be, and I'm proud to be me. I don't get something though, All my asthma/allergy meds all have a high copay $45 a piece, and there are 4 of them each month. Wish there was a way to get them cheaper Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning ProgramEstablished August of 1992 From: asthmayahoogroups (DOT) com [mailto:asthma@ yahoogroups. com] On Behalf Of AliceSent: Sunday, May 18, 2008 8:36 PMTo: asthmayahoogroups (DOT) comSubject: Xopenex Will try to remember this one. I have never heard of it. Alice>> I also have Xopenex, good stuff and works but the dr said with all he had me on I should need the nebulizer, I have 8 unopened boxes of Xopenex, I wish I could ship it to you since you use it, Do you think the postal service would allow that?> > > Terry > I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I use it in my nebulizer, but I believe it is available in an inhaler too or will be soon. It is called Xopenex and it is WAY better than albuterol, in my opinion. Melaleuca products really are very good. It can be spendy though. I think you can find them on the web at www.melaleuca. com _____ > No viruses found in this incoming messageScanned by iolo AntiVirus 1.5.3.5http://www.iolo. com No viruses found in this outgoing messageScanned by iolo AntiVirus 1.5.3.5http://www.iolo. com Sent from Yahoo!
