Terry,

We had a severe storm here today and my pfn's dropped in a HUGE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it has something to do with the barometric pressure, humidity, dampness, mold and my dr. says rain always stirs up the pollen. That's what I think bothers me. Plus, if it gets really steamy after a storm, the heat makes it hard to breathe.

Take care of yourself and get those pfn's back in the 500's. It always make me smile when I see your post and how excited you are when your pfn's are high. It gives me hope my pfn's will be this high sometime.

Hugs,

Lou

I'm so sorry to hear that! Take it very easy and keep on neb-ing and

I know how bad steroids suck, but take them so you can breathe! Get

to the hospital if you get any worse.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

yeah a daft habbit i picked up in my late teens... i feel a bit better today.. i have been able to vaccum the carpet without being left gasping for air after...i went to see my gp yesterday and my peaks were still sitting at 200... i came out with more meds and stuff for the nebulizer... I am so determined to give up the smoking.. i am focusing on 12 months time when i have saved £1600.00... that is a great holiday or new fitted wardrobes for my bedroom.

my partner hates me smoking... he said he will chop my fongers off if he catches me smoking again as this latest bout of asthma has really frightened him.

he has been the one lying awake at night listening to my breathing ..

i am just going to take it easy... rest up do little but often and try and get fit so i can get back to work... i have come so close to being admitted again this yr... never want to go through that again... i dont mind taking the preds.. i just drink tons of water but luckily i dont seem to retain it...

You take care of yourself.... let me know how youre getting on....

Wow I cant imagine smoking with asthma! Congrats on being 6 days smoke free. Lots of people it seems get infections when they quit, I know my aunt did..she keeps saying she is going to restart so she can quit being sick. I feel you on the 200's, mine is there now, just ogt off the phone with my dr who wants to admit me..I can't though, house ful of daycare kids and noone to watch my own becuase my sis is out of town. I am deathly afraid to start pred again because it has put me in the hospital twice...

Keep up not smoking that is awesome!

Anita

Hi Jo...

Glad to hear you are doing well on the no smoking efforts!! You should be proud of yourself b/c its not easy to quit from what I hear. I take Singulair and it does a decent job for me for the most part. The only thing I found, and my cousin's boy has the same trouble, is that I cant sleep if I take it at night. Anyway, I just take it in the morning now and I sleep decent at night. Good luck and I hope your asthma improves greatly!

Btw...I was a volunteer firefighter for 20 yrs here in the states and dispatchers are often the unsung, unthanked heros of our world. Ive been in the position where the dispatcher was the only one that could hear us and b/c of her actions when our crew was in a bad spot, we were rescued. IF that dispatcher had been on our firehouse grounds when we got back I would have kissed her feet. So...thanks for doing what you do.

Hi all,

I had two wonderful days of feeling like a real normal person. I even helped to put away two loads of laundry and started a load. I noticed shortness of breath when I went up and down the steps but that was it.

Yesterday, the heat and humidity went up here in Louisville, KY. I started to feel horrible yesterday and even worse today. I opened the door and realized I can't go out again today because it feels like I breathing through a thick comforter or sleeping bag.

My chest is making a gurgle, wheez sound. My sinus' are all congested and my ears hurt. I don’t even think the Asthma song I wrote is going to help me get through this one. I get so tired of having this ball and change of asthma to drag around with me.

Does anyone else in this group live in Louisville, KY?

Is anyone else having symptom because the weather changed the last 2 days?

Thanks for listening to me whine, belly ache and complain.

Sick with asthma and sick of having asthma,

Lou
