Guest guest
Hi Keli: I know what you mean about being told one thing, going to the appointment and getting a different story. This is why I'm an advocate for being educated about a doc BEFORE shlepping out to see them. Ask the receptionist to have the doctor call you. If he's a caring doc and respects your time and money, he or she will find the time to call or e-mail you or--even if it's very brief. If they can't, that's a RED FLAG. Nothing disappoints me more than going to a doc on false pretenses. Lord knows, I've been told one thing, I flew to the doc, spent big bucks and regretfully the story was different when I arrived at their office. It's both sad and frustrating. Call all the medical universities in AU. Ask questions and see who gives you good feedback and take it from there. Where in AU do you live? -Marie
Guest guest
I am still in the process of finding an experienced explant surgeon but will definately give the University Hospitals a call.....no harm in that, that's for sure! The only problem is when you call, the receptionists usually say " Oh yes, Dr. such and such does do 'en bloc' explant. Only to find after spending $$$ for a consultation they (not all mind you) think you're crazy for wanting explant. But I know everybody has been through this, right?
