I could possibly get a referral from my current Rheummy, but he's " out of

pocket. " I talked to his nurse yesterday & she said that they'd probably be

sending out a flier next week... So I guess I'll hang tight until I finally hear

something...

I'll keep you posted~

Thanks,

Pat

Pat,

The best I can help at the moment is to get on Yahoo / Yellow Pages / Austin ,Tx

/ Health & Medicine / Doctors / Rheumatology /

Select a doctor and read his reviews under " more information " .

here is the URL

http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypResults.py? & & city=Austin & state=TX & uzip=78701 & country=us\

& msa=0640 & cs=4 & ed=7Q9A.K1o2TyICNB.1UoAdjMrQ5XosWSSg.8fOqApGRQn & stp=y & stx=9606663\

I myself have made an entry on Yahoo for my Doctor , who has done me a fine

job..

I Keep forgeting to ask him about Pickrell MD...sorry.

I think It would be a wise thing to do, that is, if all of us jump to the Yahoo

yellow pages and write a review for our Doctor. That would give us the chance to

see Him / Her if problems arise while on vacation... your thoughts guys????

Dear Ones,

I am in a quandary. The Rheumatologist that I have been seeing for the

past 17 years is now, himself, very ill. It doesn't look as if he will be

returning to his practice. How on earth will I be able to find someone else

that

will understand this disease? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Pat,

I would start by askign his office for referrals. They tend to refer

to other docs they trust and the new doc should hopefully regard your

record with your old doc in a little bit more esteem if they are

associates.

After that, it's a word of mouth guessing game.

Does your current RD know anyone he could refer you to? It's got to be hard to

have to look for a new doctor when the one you have has been able to help &

understand the disease.
