Multiple Ingredients In Herbal Formulas Just as you can meet several health needs with a multivitamin, you can also get multiple-ingredient formulas for herbal remedies in just about any health food store. I tried several of the combined-ingredient diuretics, but found that plain parsley worked best for me. There are other examples, though, such as a formula for colds that contains garlic, echinacea, goldenseal, and slippery elm bark. This keeps you from needing each of those separate ingredients in your medicine cabinet. It's worth the trip, once you know exactly what you need and how much of each ingredient, to see if you can get a formula that matches your diverse needs. Just don't get a formula that contains ingredients you don't need, or that you are unfamiliar with. Make sure you know what each ingredient is (many health food stores provide a book on herbs that you can browse through for definitions and precautions), and whether or not you can use that item safely.- Carla Joy
