Guest guest
Strange I only just had this conversation with Dr at SIOS on Monday. I started getting reflux again and couldn't get to see Dr Talbot until later this week. The earlier you get fluid out the better. But it also showed me the way different dr's treat the same symptoms. Dr Talbot took out one mil from my band previously and said just relax and when it feels right come back and start getting fills again but at very small amounts until you are comfortable. Dr on the other hand believes in taking out the whole fil waiting a period of time (3 weeks) getting a swallow done and if all clear then getting the fills back in again at small amounts. If it doens't heal he doesn't put back any fluid. The other thing we discussed was the overfill v's underfill. He was saying that overfill no matter how much can actually stop you from loosing weight as you body will convert to fat due to the famine factor. Makes sense. No or minimum food, your body will convert to fat to be stored rather than using it as fuel. Apparently studies have shown being that little bit underfilled is more benefical. I tell you I wasn't saying that when the clothes were a bit snug. I think I have put on 200 grams and that is because I haven't watched what is going in my mouth, chocolate, donuts, mini baby cakes, soft drink. But that is going to change tomorrow. Going to start healthy. Kellie Get the name you always wanted with the new y7mail email address.
Guest guest
Hiya Kellie It is interesting how each surgeon approaches. I think at the end of the day its good to know that they treat reflux seriously and have a plan. I hate having any bit of fill out, it just gives me permission to play up too much and I need this band too much to keep me in check. So I tend to go for very restricted - when I had a bit out last year I didnt gain, but I didnt loose. So I have had a bit more in, can only eat like a sparrow on most occasions and I am okay wiht that. I would like to be able to eat more and loose - that would be nice to be at when I hit goal. Like you I am starting healthy tomorrow – no more naughty m & m peanuts and no more lindor balls…
