Guest guest
Statin Side Effects http://www.freewebs.com/stopped_our_statins/index.htm <http://www.freewebs.com/stopped_our_statins/index.htm> I know that I stopped taking Zocor (a statin) because it was increasing my brain fog a lot. When I told the Dr. about this, he looked at my chart and my cholesterol numbers and said that it was an OK thing to do and we can just keep an eye on my numbers and see what happens. My brain fog is still here but no where near as bad as it was. I have a question about doing was one can to help feel better and get better health. I know that a lot of folks, me included, prefer to use herbs and vitamin and mineral supplements instead of prescription drugs that the Drs so easily write for us. But I go to a low income clinic, and between them and the medicine companies, I get most all of my meds free. I can only afford the least expensive supplements and those that i can't do without most of the time. I have way to many problems to be buying alternative medications for them, so what am I - just out of luck? I do not know of any supplement companies that have a patient assistance program, do any of you? Attempting to cope with debilitating pain, depression and more is big business for both the chemical drug companies as well as the alternative and vitamin & mineral companies. How do others who have limited income handle the costs of medication, all of them? Any help will be very gratefully accepted. Guest guest
I stopped taking a multi-vitamin because it was hard on my digestion and didn't see any difference of health except sore stomach. I buy MSM from Puritan's Pride because they are always having a 3 for one sale and their prices are so good. It's an anti-oxidant that helps with pain and energy. And vitamin C is something I take regularly with rosehips. ~Kulia
Guest guest
I understand what you mean Patience. Last spring I had to stop using the transdermal oil in spite of the fact that it had improved the neuropathy in my feet so much.My feet felt 'normal' finally and never tingled or had shooting pains at all. They came back in 3 weeks or not using the trans mag though and each day thereafter got worse. I finally was able to get the transdermal magnesium again , but it was a few months later and all the improvements were gone. I am starting from scratch again and it is frustrating. But drugs definitely will make you sicker; and many of the things they cause cannot be reversed. Ask those whom were on statins when they got FM and even though they have been off the statins for years, still are in incrediable pain. The muscle damage can be irreversible. Though some are lucky enough to get off them in time. I have learned the hard way that many drugs will even caues the same things they are taken to prevent. Doctors give more drugs to cover up the side-effects of the first ones. All of the people whom had FM and/or CFS and/or MCS I know whom have gotten well have had to go off of all drugs first. We each can only do what we can. many blessings Shan
