Anyway, I made a challenge to myself last night to try and do BL11 and BL12 today, which would make me complete the set 12 tapes in 18 days. I was not sure I could do it, BUT!!!! I DID IT!!! I took a 10 minute break in between where I basically drank water and stretched, and then got back into it!! It was incredible to do an hour of tae bo, and enjoyed every minute. I did a lower intensity the second tape(not by much though) and I focused on my form and body shape. Wow!! I am so proud!! So I have now completed the set and feel great. >> Temera, you are doing so great! It is wonderful to follow your progress. You are really getting in good shape. Guest guest
- Great about the scale I was impressed w/ how fast mine arrived too!! I think I got it in less than a week! I am anxious to hear what you think about it My body fat varies about 4% on it depending on when I get on it. However, I have a friend who's percent REALLY varies. I'll be anxious to hear how consistent yours and Temera's is! Darcy > Temera (and Darcy), > > I also ordered a scale from Balances.com! Guest guest
Does anyone know how these work? I looked at a site that figures out your BMI and it said I was overweight while my stepdaughter isn't. She has smaller body parts (not by much except her waist) but she has hardly ANY muscle. Our thighs are within an inch of each other but when I flex you cannot wiggle mine. You can barely find muscle on hers even when she flexes, her thigh JIGGLES. So this chart thing said I was overweight and she was fine. AARRGG!! I am MORE fit than her, just in a bigger size. Most of me is not actually fat, my belly and love handles are quite big but the rest is looking pretty good. Amy, The problem with most BMIs and other body fat calculations is that most of them don't take into account that muscle weighs more than fat. The last two times my boyfriend and I had our body fat calculated at our gym, I was less than him and believe me, he is realistically at about 12% if not less than that...there is no way I'm lower than that <VBG>. But he is extremely muscular, a bodybuilder, and the only method I believe that works is the underwater method. Even the " hardcore " bodybuilders and fitness people don't use the Tanita Scales because it doesn't adjust for the amount of muscle they have. There is an article I think in the current Muscle & Fitness Hers about body fat measuring. I'll see if I can find it. Guest guest
The Tanita scale shows a chart of comparisons and it is SUPPOSE to be just as accurate as the underwater method. Of course that is what they say. However, they do indicate that it is NOT meant for professional bodybuilders or athletes. Mine has an athlete mode and it indicates that it is for anyone who exercises ten hours or more a week and/or has a resting heart rate of 60 beats per minute or less. Anyway, in my opinion, I believe the scale to be very accurate for what I need. If I were a PROFESSIONAL however, I wouldn't be using the scale Darcy who hopes she made some sense... > Amy, > > The problem with most BMIs and other body fat calculations is that most of > them don't take into account that muscle weighs more than fat.
