Guest guest
Dear Santya, I have very happy memories of Bali.In fact we started Indonesia tour with Jakarta then to Bandung and lastly Bali.Bali is mostly a hindu dominated island with a huge statue of Lord Vishnu sitting on Garuda (incidently the name of Indonesian airlines) .The beaches are nice and clean but not much better than Goa.I visited the place few years back when one indian rupee was equivalent to 200 rupiahs so I became a millionire simply after encashing 100 dollers. The people are nice though now I hear abot fundamentalists. You will find lot of Australians in Bali surfing ,because its nearer to Australia. You may also visit the Volcano (inactive).Bali is famous for its wooden carvings but please be very careful before buying the statuattes as the vendors moving around show you a good specimen but change it while packing with a spurious one.You may not find Indian food but seafood is aplenty (i had to suffer ,being a vegetarian). I hope you will enjoy your visit. VK76 Bali visit Dear friends, Am visiting Bali with Sujata end of this month, for a conference. Any suggestions / pieces of advice.
