Hi, I am due to be banded on the 22nd May and have just received a

call from the anaesthetist to talk about the surgery and one of the

things he said is worring me, and I would appreciate your experienced

comments.

He said that after the surgery he did not want to give too much pain

relief because of possible respiratory problems and that I would just

have to put up with some pain.

This is really beginging to scare me, I am intending to go back to the

anaesthetist and discuss this with him but just wanted some advice

first.

Many thanks,

Lizpaula

Sorry I am slow in replying to this....been very busy and am going backwards in my replies!

Anyway, I had to take exactly one dose of painkillers after my banding...for the rest it was a bit of shoulder tip pain from the gas, and a bit of pulling from the stitches whilst they healed and I tackled that with hot water bottles and pillows in bed to help support me..... I was astonished at how little pain there really was :)
