Aasawari...settling in dubai

Dear Shyam Sir,

Thanks for the feedback........and the shake on your dramatic mail for writing

on...............so this is my take and my life............

Aasa and yushu.........in Dubai

.well dubai as you say does seem and feel more like India.............this is

the only place other than India which is full of the indianness.................

infact my son who flew in this thursday.............was greatly dismayed not

to see the Gora's and to be still in a sunny and hot country..............well

not like his australia(his home) or europe( his masi's london home) or no

chinese(unlike his other masi's hongkong home)...............so he was quite

disappointed with my choice of the country..............but when he saw the

house i surely won him over as its a bigger and better one than all the other

homes( a sure winner for a hard crunch dubai place)................albeit with a

huge price tag( i could have bought a flat back home)

Dubai as it seems is one of the fastest economies today and do feel that i

made the right decision to move in here............houses come at a huge

tag........ my sister in london just fell off the chair after listening to my

rental tag for a 2 bedroom premier apartment....for a upmarket Bur Dubai

......residence....as even she does not dole out that kind of cash living in

london for her premium address and as a young solicitor in the London

courts.................. well the maintainence is free........

but yes these are my first few months here.................and the first month

in the apartment.........having lived in the serviced apartment for the last

3mths you expect everything that you can afford................

But till my son came in i was happy living as a hermit on my mattress on the

floor with the bare minimums...........but once my brat arrived it was straight

ikea..........this is a god 's gift sent for affordable prices and great

thinking out of the hats for starters like me..................right from the

bedframes to the kitchen starter kits( comes in all ranges)............and ohhh

yes lovely stacks for the love of life ........my shoes.........well you name it

and you get it............so we did have a great time shopping in and just feel

relieved( mentally as well as financially).................and now we hav 2

beds......2 tables and chairs and a well crafted didning table

and.............how could i forget my sons love........a 42inch plasma ( ypp i

know how that would please a man)

Dubai skyline is quite impressive although unlike sunset boulevard........but

yes i am sure the sheikh Zayed road is one of the best addresses for any kind of

businesses any where in the world..........most of the world businesses have a

office earmarked on the sheikh Zayed road or the Business Bay...........with

special freezones to inculcate new businesses.........Dubai is where you ought

to be.............there is a huge race to buy the property here and thus the

escalating prices...........what with the Ocean projects such as the Palm

Jumeirah and the World .........where celebs like Beckham and Shahrukh

mingle .............

Fashion world is a galore a mighty ...........u can look at all the designers

with the newest trends and fashions.......with likes of

Prada's......Bvulgari's......... u name it we have got it...............the best

is the abaya wearing silhouttes so graceful and enticing in their fashion

statements( believe me when i say i never knew abaya a black dressed could be

designed by Versace and would cost a whole bomb)................its nice to see

the intermingling faces of all the nationalities and look into probably the

world's first global country ..........where 60% are expats from you name it and

yes we represent that country here..........

Everyone remembers their own days of settling in here and helps the next one

to move on to the other level..........the law and order is impeccable( infact

too sparkling for my indians and the other brethren.........yes no bribes to the

policia)

Lovely sea and the desert always in the background..........huge ships lurking

in the sea and its a different setting all together for the pirate games which

yushu likes............

So this is from Dubai as on yet in the series of Dubai..........a dream

foretold

extended weekend long holidays..of Eids.....

Ask,some of the local Indians...and..U..will be guided..to these joints..

Namely,one..being,of The Haldirams/Bikanerwalas,..at the Dubai Chowpatty

Now,since..I have...helped..u,please..arrange..to send..me some..now,as I have

now begun to start dreaming..of panipuris and Chats.....
