Marie,

I take a capsule form of magnesiumcitrimate with malic acid for my IBS and also

for fibromyalgia. You just have to adjust your dosage according to what works

for you. I've been taking it for about 3 years, and it's been the best I have

found thus far.

Here's the link in case you're interested:

Hope this helps you out!

Good luck,

Hello,

You may be interested in another form of magnesium, magnesium sulfate

cream. It's manufacutred by Kirkman in Oregon. You apply it directly to

the skin and it is quickly absorbed according to Dr. Cheney in his

September 2006 speech and DVD distributed by the Dallas CFS support

group. I live in Lake Oswego Oregon, 8 miles from downtown Portland and

found this company in my little town! The web site is

www.kirkmangroup.com <http://www.kirkmangroup.com> . The price of a 4

ounce jar is $18.50. I aply it each hour or so durng the day and find I

feel better after application. In the evening I take oral magnesium

pills to help me sleep. However, if I wake during the night I apply some

to my arm, which helps me fall back to sleep readily (I keep the jar on

my bedstand).

Best wishes!

Sara

I also have CFIDS, FM, and IBS, and can't tolerate most forms of

magnesium. However, there are two forms I do tolerate, which don't send

me running to the bathroom every ten minutes! First is magnesium

maleate, which is basically magnesium bound to malic acid (both of which

are very good for FM pain). The other is magnesium glycinate. I tend

to do better with things in capsules rather than pills - they break up

and are absorbed better. The pills either pass through more-or-less

intact, or end up irritating my lower GI tract.

Hope this helps! You can find either form of magnesium in most health

food stores and lots of places online.

Hi, I am new to the list and am going back in time to read some of

the posts since the new year. Since the vitamin B-12 injections have

been discussed, I thought I might mention again that I use

injectible Magnesium Sulfate for pain. It has no gastro side affects

at all since it never enters your gastric system. I really do feel

that it is helpful.

Hi,

I think you will have a very hard time getting sublingual magnesium

and calcium. These are both ions, and the mouth membranes that permit

neutral molecules (e.g. B vitamins) go through will keep them out.

Also remember that with any sublingual dose, a large portion of it

winds up being swallowed, andthis would give the same problems as oral

doses.

The only way I know of to get magnesium without oral doses is by

injection. That would require a prescription, both for the Mg itself

and the syringes.
