Guest guest
It's nice to know a bit of progress is being made somewhere like this. Perhaps if it works in Spain it will catch on in other places. Hopefully! Guest guest
Glad I can be of help. I think that I do have M.E. I have so many of the symptoms but then again Fibro lists so many as well. I suffer from Vertigo, Gastro problems, hear beats like it is going to jump out of my chest. I don't know what to do. What Dr. should I talk to ? My Rheumatologist? Well, my back is really bad today and my daughter is coming in tomorrow late afternoon. I feel bad that I just can't do all the running around that I know she would like to do. She grew up knowing I was sick. Well, I guess she was about 13 or so. But after my divorce she really was a big help. I feel guilty that she has a Mom that is sick. Oh well. Glad the info can be of help. Blair
Guest guest
Hi Blair, well I have been through huge guilt over bringing my kids up while sick and disabled. But, you know what? I love 'em, which is more than a lot of kids get, and they are grown up and doing well, so there! It was #@$% & hard though.Your daughter is lucky to have you. In fact my daughter is coming to see me next week, and I have advised her that it may be a taxi from the ferry to me if I can't drive, and probably a whole lotta lying around watching movies (what else is new?) Guest guest
Ahh yes well here it is 2 p.m. and I am dressed and a bit anxious about driving. But I can't afford a taxi for her so I will be leaving earlier even thou it is usually only a half hour ride but then again Interstate 95 is the only South /north route unless I take the Florida turnpike but that is way west of me. So will just leave early in case of traffic, always doing some kind of construction. Just say a prayer I get there safe and sound. Yes, my daughter is a great kid but I still feel bad that I can't do the things I would like to with her. Blair
Guest guest
Me too on the guilt train........my youngest was only 7 when this started, but you know what? I think she has learned to be more accepting of people with ANY kind of disability, she is more loving, more caring, more patient and is a defender of " those " kids in school, the ones that people bully becuz they are different in some medical way. She stands up for them, feels protective of them............and she may not have been like that if it weren't for me having this......I dunno........ So in some small way, we have provided our kids with the ability to be compassionate, more understanding and hopefully, less judgemental. That just CAN'T be a bad thing..... Guest guest
My mother was disabled with back stuff when I was a kid and depression. I think as a kid I was very impatient and didn't believe she couldn't do stuff that she said she couldn't do (like helping clean). Anyway, when I was in my 20's she was diagnosed with MS. We hadn't had much of a relationship since I was 15 due to horrible divorce between my parents. Anyway, her MS progressed very quickly and she suffered extreme pain. I didn't have the patience to deal with her complaining over and over on the phone about how awful she felt. We weren't getting along and I resented her intrusion into my very unhappy life and didn't truly believe her. I went to see her at my therapist's suggestion as she did report getting sicker. We actually had our first real conversation since the separation. I felt like we could possibly start a relationship and actually seeing in person the level of pain that she was in made me know it was quite real. She died two weeks later, possibly naturally, possibly with help. I really regret, now being sick, how I treated her. But I think it took me being this ill to understand what she was going through and how depressed she really was. At the time MS was not acknowledged like it is now and so she too had to deal with an illness that was not respected much. I wish I hadn't had to get sick to learn this lesson and wish we could have made peace long before that as now I really miss having a mother. I was 30 when she died. At the time I was working as a speech therapist with adults with brain injuries. Even that didn't make me understand what she was going through. I think it is wonderful that your daughter is accepting even though it is unfortunate she had to have an ill mom to teach her that. You are lucky to have a wonderful kid. Guest guest
Blair, I am sure you are probably back by now. But, I hope you had an uneventful and easy drive. I so understand how you feel about not being up to the things you would like to do with your daughter. I feel the same way about mine. I feel bad for her that she has to deal with me. Enjoy your visit! English Re: Spain: ME, CFS, FM Update Ahh yes well here it is 2 p.m. and I am dressed and a bit anxious about driving. Guest guest
My daughter arrived safe and sound. We went to the supermarket and by the time I was half way done well back is giving me major pain. Came home and took a muscle relaxor. Would you believe right now she is doing all of my ironing. I didn't even have to ask. She offered. What a great daughter I have. Nervous thou as I haven't received my alimony check and I have to pay rent and bills. In a panic, not what I need. Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Blair, I pray you can relax and have an excellent visit! My daughter came for a rare visit and dinner and doggonit, she got another kidney staghorn, was unable to eat and had to go back to her state to hospital. Reason for that is because she has a rare kidney disease. Her stones are not the typical seen and the last staghorn she had removed took up 7 8's of the size of her kidney! She can only go thru that so many times before she needs a transplant. I certainly do not mean to take away from your joy with your daughter..but my point is " ENJOY and DON'T WASTE A SINGLE MOMENTL " as none of us have guarantee of tomorrow. God Bless You Blair and Best to your loved ones too! > Hi Blair, I hope the drive went well for you. I hope that you can forget > what you can't do and just enjoy her company. My daughter's coming down next > week and I'm so looking forward to it! Take Care, Aylwin xo >
