Guest guest
can anyone share their experience with " restraint therapy " ? we have a three year old with unilateral pmg...she has been in therapy since she was 7 months old is doing very well. she just starting walking this fall and has improved with her right arm and hand (less fisting, more control). and although she is doing quite well, both our neurologist and orthopedic HIGHLY suggest that we do a three week restraint therapy using a cast on her " healthy " arm. their experience with this type have therapy has been incredible with huge success in re-wiring the brain. of course, i feel very confused...on one hand this could be a tremendous opportunity for my daughter to gain use of her arm, but on the other hand it seems cruel. pleas share your thoughts/experiences. thanks! heather hamilton (mother to grace, age 3) nyc
