Undate on 'me'

HI guys, just a quick update on myself. I had the band taken out on

Friday. It was one year and 2 days since having it put in. The previous

Tue night I couldn't eat anything, nothing would stay down? I went to

my GP Wed and he thought it was reflux again and told me to start taking

Nexium again which I tried but it wouldn't stay down either. I was up

all night bringing up everything, bile and saliva. Thur morning the pain

in my side and chest was horrific. I hadn't drunk anything since Tue and

I was feeling very sick. I cried, screamed at my husband to help and he

tried ringing the surgeon, another band surgeon in Penrith who was

helpful but didn't want to get involved and said to go to emergency

which I had done once before and emergency said they wouldn't touch the

band either, just put me on a drip and pain relief. Anyway my surgeon

rang back in about an hour and said he was doing gastroscopys and to

bring me over so he could do one on me that morning. After the

gastroscopy my Dr told me the band had slipped quite badly and flipped

over on itself, there was no was anything was getting through there. I

had to go from the Day hospital to the Private hospital where I had the

band done and put on a drip and pethadine until 10am Frid morning were

my doctor removed the band..

So that's it. No more band. I weigh 74kg so will try and stay at this

weight. I think I have changed my eating habits quite a bit over the

year so (fingers crossed) I will be ok. I am a bit down at the moment

as I loved my band for the first 6 months. After that it was continual

trouble with reflux, pain etc and trying to get the fill level right.

Anyway it's over and I am alone again with my self control. I am so sad

my band and I didn't work out. I loved him but he didn't love me so

much!!!!!

Anyway I would like to say a great big thank you to everyone on here who

helped me during the year. Mel, Mazz and a special thanks for

helping with questions and support. Without this group I would have

been lost with my band. Thanks so much. Ingrid
