Guest guest
I think Lalit Taori is based in Chennai. The jewllery of Chennai is much hyped, however, they make them in 18 cts and so have a reddish tinge. The designs too are too 'South Indian' for Northerners to like. Marina Beach is a must see. Guest guest
Dear Tarvinderji, I've been to Chennai many times, but never as a tourist. However, I am told that the snake park in Chennai is worth seeing. That apart, I am sure there are beaches that you ought to visit. Have a great trip , Prabha'84 tarvinder singh uberoi wrote: dear all, i would be in chennai for two days ( 22nd & 23rd march) is there any body from mgims at chennai? can some body guide me to the topography of that city ? what are the must do things/ must see or visit places in chennai? tarvinder 76 " Recent Activity 2 New Members 12 New Photos Visit Your Group Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi, Chennai is very traditional and possibly one of the last metros to become cosmopolitan. Temples, silk sarees worth visiting. Got lots of aunts there who could advise you wrrt shopping. If interested let me know. If you have the time a half day visit to mahabalipuram is a must. Enjoyed the cave temple/arjuna's penance and krishna's butterball. In Chennai itself the Parthasarathi temple is nice. What is important is what excites u. Sweets/namkeen from Grand sweets is great. We get tuck boxes from Chennai with the same. Where r u staying? Marina beach is nice but not a good idea to walk barefoot to feel the warm sand between your toes---- may feel other things too (pooh/discarded needles etc etc) Last time we were there kids found a discarded condom! Weather will be warm/hot depending on your definition. Lovely idlis/dosas saravana bhavan has many centres- cheap great hot food. Really enjoyed it on our stay there. Often it is better eating idlis/dosas etc in these joints rather than in posh places.
