Guest guest
Hi Everyone Just a quick note to say hello and let you know where I am up to, I went and saw Dr Tim, yesterday, I’ve been having a few band issues, most of you know my ability to eat has increased, so was planning to see him about a fill, as I only have about 1ml in my 5 ml band...... BUT early in the week, reflux started with absolute abandon, I’ve also put on weight, not much but enough to get me scared of what I was once like......... so I just took the eating easy as it went. Well after I described to Tim, what has been happening, he has expressed some concern, he feels it may be either a slippage or worst case scenario the band has eroded into the stomach....... I pray it is not the latter, so as a precaution, he wants to put me in for a gastroscopy to check what is wrong, as he feels something has happened to the band, I go in for this on the 11th June, so he will deflate the band if the slippage is the problem, but he has told me to prepare myself for possible band replacement. I’m not happy about this, this was the final straw that ended an absolutely disgusting day for me yesterday, so thank god I’d planned to spend the night out at my mates place, he has been a great support to me, so we discussed the surgery if this comes off, the poor bugger was worried his cooking had made my band slip lol........ Trust me he is a VERY Good Cook this one lol..... he said he could take me for the scope, but to do this he will have to close his business for the day, so I will not let him, I’ll get my cousin to drive me to and from... If the band needs replacing he will do this at another time. So I am trying to take it each day where the band is concerned, mind you today we went down to Tuggerah to see Indiana Part 4... what a wonderful movie, we loved it lol....... we had lunch after the movie only to have me block on some seafood...... Go Bloody Figure......... at least the reflux is good today, I used to get this really bad when I had the hiatus hernia, that Tim fixed when he did the band........ It was funny when I saw Tim, he reminded me that Tiff, Mazz and I were his first lot of patients, he has lost count now lol......... He said if it was not for me, he would not have banded half of the staff where I used to work ...... apparently they all go see him and say we know Bobby Bower..... but at the moment, I am no model patient at all. You all know I am so vocal about overfills, as this can lead to slippage, yet I’ve hardly got any fill in my band, Tim said, the problems can arise even in ideal conditions, it just happens .........Sometimes albeit very rare.. So folks, this is where Little Bobby is at this stage, I will keep you all posted. Cheers Rob
