Hi all.

I asked about Primitative Reflex Therapy, this was last week I think.

Torin has now had 3 sessions in the last 5 weeks. We would like weekly but

the Chiro Naturopath comes in from another state once a month. We hope for a

local woman to come back from having a baby. It is not cheap costs $100 a

visit plus all the bottles of stuff. Neuro stimulating stuff, extra vitamins

and amino acids, melatonin liquid to name but a few. 3 powders and 5 bottles

of drops, plus his Glyco Pyrolate and reflux tablets. This sounds

rediculuous doesn't it, but when it is mixed into a bit of yoghurt it is

just a couple of spoonfulls. Forgot to mention he hates it. Has a funny

taste.

BEFORE he could army crawl slowly, with difficulty sit himself up, prefered

to lie on his back and roll back and forward, we called him in this mood Mr

Blobbo. He is profoundly deaf and has had a Cochlear Implant, which he takes

every oppertunity to knock off. He has right side spacity mild in his leg

bot worse in his hand. He can not use his hand as his thumb is tight accross

his palm. He stiffens and falls when he stands and would hit his head if you

did not catch him. One year of weekly OT and PT has done very little to help

anything.

NOW++++++ He now in the last few weeks can. Quite easily pull himself to

stand and sit down again on his bottom. He can sit on his chair bend down

and pick something up and sit back up(not flat on his face). He army crawly

quickly all round the house. He plays throwing a ball to anyone who will

play with him. He is starting to make more sound and hopefully will learn to

speak. His hand is much more open and he is now pushing things into his

right hand and I saw him push in and hold 2 chocholate wrappers, he was very

pleased. Such small improvements for most people but wonderful for us. The

Chiro is pleased and says there is more to come,

Torin is about to have Botox on his hand, the Chiro says we may find it

unnecessary in the future.

Oh well, we are hopefull, I know it is expensive and we initally thought it

was a bit doubtfull, you know Snake Oil medicine.

Another boy we know who was completely floppy and unresponsive after 6

monthly treatments is now to all extents and purposes appears a normal

little boy, profoundly deaf still, but phyically normal. So here hoping.

I will keep you all posted about the progress he is making, there is some

sall things all the time. He put his arm around my back when I was carring

him and I could feel him hang on for the first time, thrill.

Grandma Carol, Torin 18mth, PMG difuse worse on left, hemiplagia right side,

profoundly deaf, georgous red headed little monkey Grandma's lovely boy.
