And I don't consider Thailand 3rd world, even though it is a tad on the dodgy side of life. Some of the best hospitals in the world are in Bangkok and a brilliant one is in Phuket... so really - you are safe if you have a problem there, they would be able to deal with it... just don't get any plastic surgery, you might end up with a sex change instead
