Dr D.U.Pathak is a practicing surgeon from Jabalpur (MP).

He has written an emotional book on female foeticide 'Yaha Kaisi Vidai'. The

problem is mainly social. It was there since ages. Sono detection has not

made it worse. Now it is foeticide, previously it was infanticide. Probably

Ultrasound has lessened the cruelty. Doctors should refrain from their part,

that is all. This book has helped in changing the mind. It is being

considered to include this book in the curriculum of the college students.

It is already part of the tool kit of many NGO's fighting to save vanishing
