Guest guest
Hi All, Thanks for your advice, I have to say knee immobilisers would seem to be the preferred option by me also, but as the Orthopaedic guy told us the type of cast will be more than likely a Spica, but the final decision won't be made until he's in theatre. Daires school are more than willing to have him in school post op, with casts etc. but I would have to transport him in and out of school. The hospital are meant to source equipment for him post op, but his physio doesnt hold out much hope for this to happen, upon past experience. Daire has to date not had any home therapy, don't expect it post operatively either, it's largely up to us. The most homs visits he gets are assessments periodically or showing me how to use a new piece of equipment. He is still not gaining weight, despite being on 1000mls of feed plus Procal in 2 of his 4 feeds. I would like to have him as good as possible so as he has reserves that he could afford to loose a few pounds. We'll see how things go his school are still weighing him on a weekly basis.
