Does anyone know if this is done in the US? I've never heard of it before.

my daughter had the cmv check

done this year. she is 16yrs, they found her

Yes, it is required every baby has heel stick after 24 hours of age birth to

test for metabolic disorders. You are probably more familiar with the

terminology of " PKU " testing.

They don't keep a card with the blood from the PKU though, at least in Florida.

It is dstroyed after the test is complete.

I have no idea if they are kept or for how long if they are. I will find out

though.
