Krista,

I am new to this group and I saw this old posting. My daughter is 5

years old with bilateral perisylvian syndrome and she continues to

drool, using 8-10 bandanas a day. We recently had botox injected

into her parotid glands (2 weeks ago). It was a quick procedure.

However we have not seen any positive outcomes. We now will be

trying the botox into her submandibular glands. Riley did not have

any side effects from the botox and tolerated the procedure well.

Our insurance company paid for the botox and our neurologist said

that most do now. From what our neurologist said the treatments are

every 3 months. We cannot do the submandibular glands unti the

original botox wears off in 3 months. Will keep you updated. Has

anyone else tried botox for drooling? We tried robinul but riley

developed urinary retention and had to be cathed.
