Oh yes Sondra.................She had many self injurious behaviors even as young as 2 YO. She wasn't aggressive to others but would hurt herself. Biting her fingers, pinching her legs, head banging, etc. It was terribly disturbing to see her do this. A ped. neuro put her on Risperdal when she was 5 and has been on it ever since. She has very few SIB's now, but occasionally she gets so frustrated and takes it out on herself. She cannot tell us where she hurts or how she feels. The only way we know if she is hurting is if she gets grouchy. It is so hard because if you ask her if something hurts she will say yes to whichever part of the body you ask her. By the way, she will be 15 in Feb. I have keep telling her age because she is a bit older than some of the kids on this list. Grandma **************Start the year off right.
