Guest guest
(Below is a message from Mueller, who runs the OCD-Support group for adults. Anyone who has teens interested in communicating with other OCD teens, please read below!) Listmembers: My 16-year-old daughter , who has OCD, wants to lead an on-line support group for Teens with OCD. There used to be an on-line " NewOCDTeen " group, which still states that it has 423 members, but nothing has been posted in that group since March of 2010. Is there anyone here who belongs to the " NewOCDTeen " group and can let me know why no one is posting in that group? Has it lost its moderator? is very motivated to get this group started up again and have an active support group for Teens with OCD. My purpose for writing this message is to let you all know that she plans to start up this on-line group as soon as possible, and I also wanted to ask anyone who is interested in participating in this to e-mail either me (wmueller@...) or (exceedinglyhappy@...) to let us know of your interest. I have been leading on-line OCD support groups for about 19 years and could assist in moderating the group. She also has the support of Dr. Jenike – who met and spoke with at last weekend's conference – in starting this up. We would aim to get a specialist in treating OCD in kids/teens to help answer questions in the group. So, if you are a teen (between 12 and 20) or if you are the parent of a teen and would be interested in this, please e-mail either myself or at the e-mail addresses given above. Thanks. Guest guest
Yayyy! Did you see this, Steph?  I am really hoping that my son will want to participate. He loves to write and participates in lots of online things (as so many of our kids seem to) like blogs and fanfiction pages. He has a Facebook page but barely attends it. Best of luck getting this off the ground! Guest guest
Make sure you email or her daughter that you're interested in it. Some children/teens may rather " lurk " in a group at first too, could still join it. > > Yayyy! Did you see this, Steph?  I am really hoping that my son will want to participate. He loves to write and participates in lots of online things (as so many of our kids seem to) like blogs and fanfiction pages. He has a Facebook page but barely attends it. Best of luck getting this off the ground! > >
Guest guest
O.K., I e-mailed . :-) Quick question. If a teen wants to join the group, is it a requirement that his/her parent be a member of this list? I wanted to pass along this information to a friend, and she'll need to know. Thanks! Guest guest
I don't think they will connect our group to the Teen group, other than us recommending it to parents for their teens. So no requirement to be part of our group. > > O.K., I e-mailed . :-) Quick question. If a teen wants to join the group, is it a requirement that his/her parent be a member of this list?
