Guest guest
Hello Everyone, My dd has been on the 's wait list since April. I've been reading old posts about rogers but would love to email or talk by phone to someone who's child has been there. I'm frustrated by the poor communication coming out of their admissions office and the multiple times we've been told it will be two or so more weeks. (mid May, early June, no mid June, oh sorry now end of July) I've started looking again at other intensive programs. In my gut I'm thinking is the place for her but I would love to talk to someone and get some details on their experience. She desperately wanted to get on top of the OCD before school begins but at this point she'll miss part or most of first trimester. Other program recommendations are welcome too. Thank you. Guest guest
The Mayo clinic has a very intensive OCD program (8 days I think). Then there's Meninger's clinic and a program in Boston (more for adolescence). We opted not to do 's because we had not tried enough outpatient intensive therapy and given the prohibitive cost we thought we'd do that first. They had a bed ready June 15th. My husband objected more to the program than I did. He feels that because of the structure and programming that is constant there and not like home, my son would need to be there a long time (5 mos or so) because Matt has a tendency to go along with things until he can get home where he will rely on old coping skills. There may be a time when will be right for us, for now we're moving ahead with other options. Good luck. Bonnie > > Hello Everyone, > My dd has been on the 's wait list since April. Guest guest
I hope this isn't a terribly rude question, but I've been thinking about the families whose kids have spent 5 or 6 months at a place like . How does one pay for this? Do insurance companies actually step up and pay most of the bills? We are like most folks in that if we have a couple of thousand dollars in the bank, we're doing well. :-D We are not considering this kind of option for my daughter right now. But it is always in the back of my mind. I need to know there's somewhere to turn in case she has to be hospitalized again and short term hospitalization isn't good enough. Y'know? Thanks.
