Just want to clarify on my " anxiety from her OCD could be a cause... " comment.

Didn't mean it was OCD related type behavior, it's not part of OCD. Just

skimming thru recent posts and thought my comment could come across that way to

some.

Was just thinking that with cutting, there is emotional stuff going on, and with

OCD when it's severe and a person is so upset, and a lot of anxiety, maybe mad

at themselves.... That's where the thought above came from if the behavior

wasn't there prior to OCD.

OCD. We've had members here who have had to deal with, treat, both. Some info

on this:

started. (Just my thoughts, no expert here!)

Awww, hate that she is feeling that way, teenage years are hard enough. I've

heard of that reason with cutting too.

I can imagine all the stuff on the walls in physics and then with a counting

problem! Does the teacher understand what the problem is now?

In middle school when 's OCD was so bad, he used to do things so fast,

including walking, that he looked weird/odd. Throw in a bit of OCD

mannerisms/compulsions.... Other students thought he was on crack or some drug,

I heard thru the grapevine.

Sigh, I was just thinking the other day how if we could go back in time and

*still know what we know at present age*, and I went to teen/school years, boy

would it be different; wouldn't worry about fitting in or what peers thought,

etc. But gotta live through it I guess.

Has she brushed her hair so much that it's gotten so thinned out? She's not

pulling it out any, is she? Hair that thins on its own or begins to fall out

some has me wondering about thyroid, so that's why I'm asking. I've naturally

got fine, thin hair myself, envious of others with thick or fuller.

time. AP did not tell the psychiatrist about her cutting last week when she saw

him for the first time. When she came out yesterday, I asked her if she told the

therapist everything. AP was told by the therapist she needs to seek help in

other ways rather than cut herself. my daughter said she has no feelings at

times and she cuts herself in an attempt to feel. She told me on the car ride

home " I feel so dead inside and so confused because I cannot stop the thoughts

of counting or brushing my teeth or making sure my hair is ok "

That was a pretty mean thing for the teacher to say! I hope you set them

straight!
